The Last Stand Committee has decided to reboot this epic match. We are at a different range and a few of the committee members are different. But the spirit of the The Last Stand remains. If you look at the top, there are two check boxes for male and female. Whichever you check will determine if you are entered in to the open or ladies category you choose below that.

With the announcement of The Last Stand as the 2025 Florida State Championship, I received innumerable questions regarding the Ides of March for 2025.

I will answer them to the best of my ability here instead of replying to 50+ seperate messages and emails. The short answer is that there will be no Ides of March for 2025 and the easy answer as to why is range politics.

I was not directly involved in the drama so I cannot speak to what actually transpired. The folks who were involved were able to work with the range and gun club board to save the monthly matches but the compromise was no Ides next year.

We know how disappointing this may be to a lot of folks because of how well liked that match was. Just know that The Last Stand Committee is committed to making sure we have no drop-off in the fun factor of the Florida State Championship match. And we have assembled a very capable and creative team to put on a memorable match for all to enjoy.

So in the famous words of Santa Fe River Stan: "Come join us."

I entered "The Last Stand", The Last Stand, and Last Stand and none of these worked, website is not yet updated to accept that code. I just looked for the time frame of the match and they have over 90% vacancy for that week.

As much as we will miss the Ides, we are really looking forward to this match.  With SC State being the following weekend, Holli and I are looking at a 2 State Double Header over about 10 days of travel South of the Boarder!  Hotels for both are booked, Can't Hardly Wait!

 

It may have been buried in the Fine Print of the application, and not that it should effect Holli or I as our apps should be in the mail Monday AM, but I didn't see a limit on the head count at the match.  Have you guys established that yet?  I do understand that it depends a lot on schedule, single flight or two, etc, I was just curious if you guys had set a number yet.

 

Really looking forward to our New Spring Fling and, if the world doesn't blow up before then, we will see you guys in January!

Their website kept rejecting my browser so I phoned in a reservation.  I got a premium pull-through site at the Last Stand rate.  The reservation clerk was easy to work with.

The Palms policy page says "No firearms on the premises".  Do they have that just for controlling rowdies?  Or do we sneak them in & out?  It's hard to dress like a cowboy and not be noticed.

We are just over two months away from the 2025 Florida State Championship. If you plan on attending The Last Stand in April, please get your application to Delta Glen ASAP. We are going to cut off categories on February 15. That is two weeks from this Saturday! So don’t wait to get them in the mail.
