Ya know, I can see Rooster after the fire telling the police and Fire Marshals “I have no idea what could have blowed up like that. All I had in there was some Diet Cokes and Mento’s packets…Maybe that’s what caused it.”

If any of you remember Gander Mountain sporting good store .

They went out of business about 10 years ago.

The had 50% off everything in the store .

Me and a shooting buddy went in with credit cards in hand  !

I bought every can of APP & Unique  Powder , Remington #10 cap , Federal , CCI and Remington LP & SP  Primer they had in the store .

I spent about 1000.00 that day 10 years ago at 50% off .

And I'm still stocked for a very long time .

My wife thought I went crazy when I spent that much on shooting supplies.

But I can't even imagine what I have saved over the years .

Every time we went to "The States" my wife and I always hit Gander Mountain, on Arsenal Street in Watertown, NY.

We both always came out with something. Or several somethings.

Sorry it's now gone.

Me too.

I loved Gander Mountain.

I don't understand what happened to them .

They always seemed to be busy.

We had a really big local store .

They was like a smaller Cabela's Store .

Heck are very own local champion shooter Deuce Steven's evan worked at our local Gander Mountain.

That's actually how I got involved with SASS in the first place .

I had a Winchester 9422 on layaway.

I was in the store picking it up .

Steve was waiting on me to pick up my layaway.

Steve and I was talking about our love for cowboy guns .

He got on the store computer and showed me SASS Videos and talked about SASS to me .

I went to Rockford sportsmen club to watch him shoot that weekend and I was hooked .

I already had everything I needed to play the game except a gun cart .

I went home that day and built a gun cart.

( That I still use  )

And I was at the next Saturday shoot in Hastings.

Been hooked ever since.

I loved Gander Mountain. It was a great mail order catalog.

I think they went to hell when they decided to build the brick and mortar stores. Because once they had actual places of business, they quit doing mail order.

I went into a Gander Mountain store one time. It was on a trip to Fandango, so I suppose it was in Wisconsin. I live in Florida. That's a long damn way to go buy something. But I bought most of my reloading gear, and my first gun safe, from The Gander Mountain catalog.

I never used Trail Boss .

I could not justify 8oz for the price of 1 pound .

So I don't miss it a bit :D

I know a lot of people are looking for Unique though and I dont know of any for sale :D

I did the same for the two days when Judge Benitez kicked CA ass and set aside their background check for ammo.
LAX Ammo took awhile to fill the order, but they did honor all orders received in that two day window before CA found another activist judge who closed down mail order ammo once again.
