Unique Powder

I don’t know if Alliant isn’t making it or it sells out so quick, but I found 4-1# containers of Unique here:

I don’t need it. One of you can grab it, hopefully.

FYI,

I've purchased from miwallcorp and the company is legit, fast shipping, and product 100% as advertised.

I’ve noticed the same thing. Until you posted this I haven’t seen a dealer who had Alliant powders in stock who had Unique

Wow... add in $19.95 hazmat and $9 shipping and that is a very pricey 1# bottle of Unique.
If you bought all four bottles it is still $52 shipped, each.

And they have a limit of two, so you could not buy all four.

Brother-in-law and I use to buy Unique in 15 pound barrels then split it.  Used up several over the 70s and 80s.  Last time there was a shortage I was in a gunshop that had display islands of ammo and components - mostly empty.  I spotted a 8 lb can of Unique for something like $80.  I was old stock by being in paper container. I did need it so passed it up.

BE-86 is an Alliant powder considered by some to be a "cleaner burning " Unique.  I bought a pound of it for $35 at a gunshow and I like it.  3.5 to 4.0 grains of BE-86 under a wadcutter works dandy in my .38 Specials.  You might consider it if you can't find Unique.

Unigue & Universal are just about tit for tat the same thing .

Unique is my goto powder in smokeless powder .

I think I might have $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ of powder on hand.

With all the different powders I have Black and Smokeless.

I don't think I will ever have to order powder again in my lifetime.

And Universal burns cleaner. ;)

If you don't load at 'fly-fart' level ;)

I was going to say that, Lumpy.

I have never purposely loaded wimp loads.

Yes, Unique burns just fine but Universal does burn cleaner. You can really see it in .45 Colt.

Unique is my #1 goto smokeless powder .

You can load anything with it .

It will do anything good But nothing best .

I learned to use a very firm roll-crimp to get a cleaner burn with Unique.
