Great number!!  We covered it for several years in the frat houses and bars. The song as recorded has lots of parts.  We used drums and percussion, two guitars, bass, and keyboards along with me on tambourine and vocals.

One dark night in Firelands ...

... when the Saturday night dance was interrupted by troublemakers outside, and everyone came boilin' out like a bunch of hornets and proceeded to educate the troublemakers, one of those skinny mountain fiddlers came out with them.

As troublemakers were thrown from one group to another, right before getting their Saturday night bath in the nearest horse trough, that skinny old Kentucky fiddler was happily sawing out "The Irish Washerwoman" on a curlyback fiddle.

I wanted to hear it again.
