Bought an axe

Just a cheapo to get some calluses going and see if I have any minuscule memory left after several decades. I miss my 1952 Gibson ES 125 but may folks sold it when I went in to the army. House is too quiet these days. This should correct that. ;)

Fun!  Enjoy it!  I assume you picked up something to plug it into as well?  There are some really good amps available.  The Boss Katana is just one example.

Yeah. I have a little Sawtooth

For those who are unfamiliar with the term:

Guitar Slang

The Axe – or Ax, depending on whom you ask – is possibly the most common slang word for a guitar. Surprisingly, the term dates back to the mid-’50s when jazz musicians used it as a slang word for saxophone. Over time, it became a go-to term for the electric guitar.

Archtop – is slang for the steel-stringed acoustic guitar that has an arched top, unlike the classic, folk-style guitar that usually has a flat top. This type of guitar is still pretty popular among jazz players, so there’s another jazz connection for you.

GAS (or G.A.S.) – you may have seen this abbreviation in the comment section of various guitar-selling pages and websites. It stands for “Gear Acquisition Syndrome” and mainly refers to the compulsive need of buying new guitars and guitar-related gear.

Nice Tele... hope it works out for you.

When my rocker daughter first got started, I got her "first".. a Gibson SG Standard.
I told if if she ever needed to unload and travel light, send it home to me for safe keeping.

After 13 years on the road with her band, she still has it.
I tried to impress on her how important to keep her "first" forever.
Mine was a 1963 Epiphone Casino, that came to me from my guitar teacher, then to the !@#$ who stole it.
I've never had a player as good as that old Epiphone.

Peavey 5150 with a 4 x 12 slant cabinet and midipedal running through Eventide H9000 processor... You will annoy your neighbors with this rig.

I have no neighbors.

There is an ES 125 in a guitar store near me for sale. They are asking $4500.  It is pretty good shape, but  like you I am cheap....

Bought mine in ‘65 for 50 bucks. :(

Bob, like you I'm alone so, in addition to a Fender Tele, I bought me one of these to help entertain and train myself.   Spark Amp   Check it out.

Pretty cool!

I was in Kyiv and a sweet doctor friend asked to see a concert. We went to see Sting. It was near the end of his world tour and we were close enough to see the condition of his guitars. My God, they’d all been beat to crap. He would be done after Warsaw and my guess is they’d go in for a refinish.

There were maybe a dozen spares over on the side of the stage.
