What is it?

I see that it says 1 pound up in the corner. I thought it might be script, that the miners were paid with it was only good at The company store. But if it was issued to John, and it's good for a year, and it's non-transferable - that don't sound like money.

John bought a license for one quid that gave him permission to prospect?

If you fossick you could sift existing tailings or pan a creek, but not start new commercial mining operations.

It's a hobby sorry of thing not a business.

It's like the warning to not drink fluids from your car's battery!

I hope everyone complies with the request - it seems fairly reasonable.

Just to let you all know, I've been admitted to Hospital. I've just gone and poisoned myself. I ate what I thought was an onion but it was a Daffodil Bulb. They said I'll be out sometime in the Spring.....

Damn! I got all worried, and to calm my fears, I kept on reading. When you kept posting, I thought, "Hmm. I better reread that poisoning comment again."

Maybe I'm not the only one to have thought that you were serious.

We'll be looking for an Easter renaissance!

I fell for it and was going to post condolences and wishes but first looked it up to gauge just how bad it might be:

Anyway, since you dug the hole, I now I suggest putting yourself 3" deep with the pointy end up.
