Subdeacon Joe Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 I had to get something out of my trunk at work. I glanced up at the Sun.

Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217 Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 <understatement filter on> I went to Sacramento today. They have wind and smoke. <I hope I can turn that filter off soon.>

Utah Bob #35998 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Couldn’t see it at all on Monday. Then with the wind shift, it made an appearance yesterday afternoon. Gone now behind the snow clouds.
Smokin Gator SASS #29736 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Can't see the sun or glow from it this morning. Up in Tehama county. Really dark. Security lights come on automatically.
Dirty Dog Doug Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Same in SF bay area no sun just an orange glow only good thing is the tech cleaning my teeth is a young very cute lady
Dirty Dog Doug Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 there is a sun up there someplace this is at 2pm lots Night lights are one .. my solar panels are making 20% of normal
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Outdoors is a really weird sensation... Air quality is terrible, but the strange part is the smoky sky illuminated by the overhead sun. The sun itself is not visible, but the sky seems to glow, making the world look like it's being viewed through amber lenses. Visibility seems to be about a half-mile or so.
Subdeacon Joe Posted September 9, 2020 Author Posted September 9, 2020 Today, right now, the temperature is about 63. Yesterday at this time it was 90. Monday and Sunday at this time it was 105 or more.
watab kid Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 i am saddened for those caught up in this , there is a lot to be said for management practices that some states employ - if that money is well spent , but i do hope that the offence/defense practices are well funded to fight this ,
Dirty Dog Doug Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 I just saw the Sun still very smokie but better solar panels controler sez they are up to 60% well over 3 million acres burned our moron gov is blaming Trump for pulling out of fake climate crap he forgot when obama signed it the wackos said it would cut change less than 2 degrees
South-Eye Ned Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 The air quality must be terrible. I feel for those with COPD. My dad’s life was shortened because of the Volcanic ash from the El Chicón volcano in Mexico back in 1982
watab kid Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 smoke is supposed to travel accross the northern plains to us this weekend by prevailing jet stream
Michigan Slim Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 The setting son here in Indiana was blood red yesterday. You could stare right at it and not hurt your eyes. I wonder if it's from the smoke? The sky seemed clear at the time.
watab kid Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 we had some today but not as much as one might think
Dirty Dog Doug Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 at noon we could not see the sun but at 3 pm it was seen for a few hours I look at my white truck and see it covered in ash .. has to be good for our lungs the wacko are bitching that are firefighter was defending homes and not working harder on fire in a park with no homes around
