Sixgun Seamus
I have a Masterbuilt Electric that uses wood chips. Smoked a lot of meat in it and it always worked great. Set timer and temperature and check the wood chips every so often and you're good to go. Don't need anything real expensive of complicated to do a good job. You can make your own chips if you want. Yul Lose
I use and like a pellet grill. I’ve had the others but this one seems to do about everything I need.
Cowboy Small
I really like my Traeger pellet smoker . Set it and forget it. If I wasn't afflicted with "JOB" I would probably prefer a wood smoker. CS

Chili Ron
Howdy, I have had good luck with Char-Griller cookers. They make one little guy called the side fire box. It can be used to just grill meat or attach to another grill and use as a smoker. I bought my Char-Griller on clearance and decided on making a few changes. An order to the company and a trip or two to the hardware store and I like my grill even more. Last trip to walmart they had a couple on clearance. I bet this happens every year about now. Their stuff is made of real metal, afaik in the USA. Changes were easy, if you even need changes. Replacement parts are easy to get and if you want parts from one grill to put on another, they ship em right out just bring money. And not a lot at that. I like that the fire is in a drawer that I can get to without moving one bit of food. Just be careful and don't dump the fire on the ground. Engage brain before adjusting fire. Check the Char-Griller website and read the reviews. If you think it is your kind of thing, The one grill is under 100 bucks. Some models have fire in a drawer and some have moveable grill sections. After a few years mine did need a little clean and paint session. Best CR I bought mine in 2007.....Still works grate.

Ramblin Gambler
I've got the same thing as sixgun seamus. It's pretty good, but I'd be lying if i said i didn't prefer brisket that my brother in law cooks on his 'real' smoker. I just aint got the know-how to work one of them real ones. On a side note, a pork loin in our electric is the best pork loin I know of.
