Subdeacon Joe Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 155? And what is that rig he is standing on?
Utah Bob #35998 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Much bigger. Railroad gun I'd say. That's the loading platform. Crane behind him for lifting shells into the loading cradle.
Cypress Sun Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Early test firings show that cats really do land on their feet........and chase their tail at the same time.
Utah Bob #35998 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Too bad they didn't hit this guy during the war.
Utah Bob #35998 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 What does the kitten do? Rangefinder. And keeps the pigeons out of the breech.
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 155mm is 6.1 inches. That looks somewhat bigger. The soldier looks to be British. I guestimate his sleeve cuff as 4 inches acros, the round could easily be 14" in diameter. Wikipedia says the Brits had railway guns of 12, 13.5, 14 and 18 inches (and 9.2 but this looks to be bigger than that).
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I didn't post ANY images, but I got a BS message saying I had posted more than allowed.

Let me guess...you tried to quote one of the earlier posts that had an image in it. If you quote it, then highlight and delete the image, then the text will show and you won't get that message. Just a glitch in the system.
