Ivory Jack, #8534 LTG
Cupcake - My mother was named Helen Virginia Fears. When I asked my Grandfather why he named her that, his answer was: "When I was young, I raised Helen Virginia!" Of course Mom always took exception to Grand-dad's stories... Yellowhouse Sam # 25171
Strange names sometimes. Back in the late sixties BC (before computers) I was perusing the newest Journal of Economic Entomolgy and one of the papers caught my eye. It was authored by none other than one B. A. Butt. Later in my career another got my attention and evidently son followed fathers footsteps. That research was authored by B. A. Butt II. I know not whether the tradition has continued. While in Georgia, I worked with many county agents and extension specialists. Now all know that a guy named Richard sometimes is stuck with the nickname Dick. Not all that unusual but the guys last name was Sprenkel. First time I ask my secretary to write a letter to him, she got a funny look, and died laughing.
