  2. I understand completely. I sit there going "huh?" at many of the memes, because it's about a sports figure - and I don't follow sports - or a politician - and I don't watch television so I don't recognize politicians.
  3. Depends on what the assets are. Regarding the book, If you had no heirs and made no other arrangements in your will then the publishers and perhaps your agent if you had one would split the money and they would have to pay any taxes that applied. As for something like land, the house or a car, probably the state gets that and the state will probably auction it off. There are a lot of worthwhile charities out there that you can put in your will to at least get any life insurance or cash. Something to think about for those of you who don't have any people to give the money to or have people that you don't want to give the money to. For me, aside from my parents, I don't want any of my relatives inheriting my estate when I die.
  4. I was just now looking at a book over on The Faded Page. It said it was published in 1969. Then I was reading about the author. Said he died in 1967. Now if I wrote a book and it didn't get published until 2 years after my death, my daughter would get the royalties. But if I lived alone and didn't have a wife or kids or any other beneficiary, would the publishers get to keep it all?
  5. Thank you @Widder, SASS #59054 It’s supposed to be a friendly competition but I am not sure whether semiauto is not allowed. I actually never asked except when I said “I have a Ruger 10/22.” the guys I was talking to all smiled and said “You will definitely want something better than that.” I have zero interest in building a gun, but I will look at Kidd. Thank you.
  6. A few days before the last Halloween some artsy craftsy store my wife lured me to had a few witches brooms positioned in the bike rack outside. As soon as I saw them the humor, smart***, sarcastic side of my brain that is hardwired directly to my tongue prompted me to say “Look honey, your Mom and some of her friends must be here.” She actually laughed, but the group of ladies standing in a circle near the rack heard my little quip and they all glared at me. Without missing a beat I said “I’m sorry ladies. I didn’t realize those were yours. My apologies.” I laughed and kept walking. My wife didn’t say a word until we were inside then she sidled up close to me and quietly said “You’re bad. Gimme a kiss.” Then she giggled. I never looked back to see those women’s reactions but judging by the outside temps dipping I think they didn’t like my joke.
  7. Howdy Pat. I own a CZ 457. Its in .17 HMR w/ their heavy barrel. It shoots real good. Slaters owns the .22 and its very accurate. As with most .22's, even my KIDD models, the ammo will be a BIG deciding factor in the accuracy you can get. Ironically, some of the cheaper, bulk stuff shoots darn good .... most of the time. As with most of the SAVAGE .22's, you get a lot of performance for your money. You might even get one as accurate as the CZ, depending upon ammo you use. I also own the Savage. Its the 'B' model, which has the better magazine.....in my opinion. Both have GREAT triggers. My CZ has an aftermarket trigger that is super sweet. IF your competition rules allow semi auto .22's, you should also look at KIDD. Their triggers are about as good as you can find. ..........Widder

  9. Sounds like a “Course” at a French restaurant.
  10. As Sedalia Dave mentioned, there are several clubs in Texas doing this. Most call it “Sharp shooter”. Something to remember is when a shooter shoots the “regular” pistol targets instead of the more distant “open Range (sharp shooter) targets it misses (for every shot on incorrect target) not a P! (Ask me how I know!) another fun twist is to shoot Cody-Dixon, where you shoot the more distant rifle targets with a rifle caliber gun (45-70, 38-55, 30-30 being most common) pistols & shotgun are same as everyone else. There are typically 6 rifle shots per stage. Separate categories for lever and Single Shot. Gives cowboys a chance to shoot different guns. 76s, 86s, marlin 95s, etc or Trapdoors, hiwalls, Sharps (Handi rifles not allowed!) Give it a try!

  15. I've got 7 cams out along our long driveway. I catch a lot of the traffic in and out plus a lot of wildlife. The are of at least 3 generations. All relatively cheap. No fancey Wi-Fi or such. The newest ones take the best pictures and batteries last a long time. I use rechargeable AA batteries. The newest cameras will go maybe 6 months on a charge just taking photos. The old one I have on video only last 3-4 days between charging. I have it over a salt lick in yard and it get a lot of videos. I bought two recently on sale at MidwayUSA. Cheap but take good pictures. Biggest complaint with the two new ones is the text display is too small to read. Like the Bible on an aspirin small. I've had two cameras stolen. I leave out several dead cameras as a deterrent to trespassers. Hopefully they will see them and move on. The newer cams are all camouflaged and very hard to see against trees.

Here’s a couple of bear pics we got recently. Takes 30 seconds usually for texts to hit my phone. SpyPoint are ok and give 100 free sends per month.
