Rye Miles #13621
Have you heard of this? It’s advertised on the internet, here’s the skinny on it……. https://bestconsumerguide.com/b/review-stopwatt-electricity-saver/?AdGroupId=1231454039275558&AdId=76966008889448&BidMatchType=bb&CampaignId=483649876&TargetId=kwd-76966153010802:loc-190&QueryString=elon musk electric saving device&IfSearch:string=string&keyword=elon musk electric saving device&MatchType=e&cpid=ae9c8355-064d-48b1-82c6-2717cd38ef3f&lpid=b67ab39d-81b5-42f7-8090-f41f1cff30bd
Texas Joker
YEEEAAAA: you plug a dealy and within 3-4 weeks it cleans up the 'noise' in your electric sine wave saving you hundreds. An amp is an amp if you use 11 you pay for 11. Clean or dirty. The whole article was scam speak. 1
Cypress Sun
This thing has been around for quite some time. It has had various names and various different versions of it. I did sone research on it a while back. The real reviews were terrible and real results non-existent...because there were no bill lowering results. It is a complete scam and does not reduce one's power bill at all. It's basically a cheap, ineffectual line conditioner. 1

Rye Miles #13621
Okay thanks, I thought it was too good to be true and really cheap also! I don't think that Elon Musk is in on this but we'll see............
Pat Riot
I get a Spam email every couple of days from “Elon Musk” and some “As Seen on TV” type of ad. Annoying until you click them as “spam” then they go to the spam folder directly.
Alpo
I'm not an electrician. But I am pretty good at arithmetic. They show a picture of a bill. Last month's bill is $201. This month's bill is $16. Wow! Then they tell you you can save up to 47% on your electric bill. So I do a little basic arithmetic. 47% is approximately half. So that would knock your $200 bill down to around $100. $16, on the other hand, is 1/12 of 200. Not half - 1/12. Either they can't add or they think I can't add. Either way, it's a scam. Doesn't matter what they're selling. If their math looks like that, it's a scam.
Rye Miles #13621
I'm surprised they can get away with using Elon Musk in the ads! I really doubt he's in on this scam! Maybe a lawsuit is coming??
Texas Maverick
Using others name is happening more and more. I had a Cabelas ad come up on facebook and clicked the link and it looked just like Cabelas website. Had great prices as well. After looking around the website things just looked a little off. I actually called Cabelas and asked them if they were doing a promotion at such and such website and they said it wasn't them. I then notified FB about a fraudulent ad and they rejected my request to have it removed saying it didn't violate any of their rules. The last time I checked the ad was still there scamming people out of their money. Then I post a picture of a cross and it is removed because it did violate their rules. Said it might offend someone. FB is getting the be the biggest scam on the network. It is the only link I have to some people or I would just cancel it entirely. Ridiculous 🙄
Alpo
I've mentioned this before. On another board they were talking about avocado ranches, and I said that my grandparents had owned one. El Gato Negro. The black cat. That was the name of their ranch. And when I wrote that on the other board, what showed up was El Gato *****. Because apparently negro is an offensive term now. Even though this had nothing to do with black people and was the Spanish word for black. It's an offensive term.

John Kloehr
Scam. The advertising implies the device corrects power factor without actually saying it does so. If it did, there would be some power savings through efficiency. Most big loads are inductive (electric motors), so capacitors can correct the power factor. These would have to be big capacitors! Supposedly the inside of the device is only a simple circuit to light the LED.

Alpo
Based on that answer, you seem to be one of the many that misunderstand what the first amendment is. The first amendment says "Congress shall make no law ..." That means the federal government shall not tell me what church I have to go to, and what I can print in my newspaper, and what I can say on the street. The first amendment does not say that sassnet needs to let me cuss or that arfcon needs to allow me to tell ethnic jokes or that glock talk has to let me tell dirty jokes about Brandon. It also does not say that you can come in my house and say things I don't agree with. It only applies to the federal government. The way I read the first amendment, the state of Louisiana could make Catholicism the State religion. If you were not married in the Catholic Church, you were not legally married, your children were not legitimate. Because the amendment says "Congress shall make no law".

TM If it is a sponsored ad (They're paying FB to host their ad) FB WILL NOT under any circumstances take the ad down. Even the business being misrepresented cannot get FB to remove the ad. Makes ZERO sense but community standards don't apply if your pockets are deep enough.

Rye Miles #13621
All these online companies like Facebook, Instagram etc can limit speech however they want, they’re private companies and the First Amendment doesn’t apply. Even this here Wire has its limitations.

The problem with Social Media is that it has evolved into something more akin to privately owned Radio, TV, and Newspapers which are governed by the 1st amendment as it applies to censorship. JMNSHO but it is awfully hard to claim immunity from censorship when you have become a monopoly because you have eliminated all your competition. Truth Social, Rumble and similar platforms by comparison are so small that they essentially don't have any impact. X is an entirely different format and is not considered a competitor to Meta. Alphabet which owns Google, YouTube, and the largest online advertising engine on earth.is so large compared to the alternatives that it is mind boggling. Together the sphere of influence that Alphabet and Meta have over the internet and the world in general is terrifying.
