Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474
A tale of woe and embarrassment" I and my wife, Bill, (my best friend) and his wife and kids were all up at the cottage we had on a trout lake, with a great deer bush behind us. November deer season, with snow on the ground. Off Bill and I go, before dawn and get into our stands. And Wait And Wait. It starts to snow more heavily and Bill walks into my watch and says: "I don't think they'll be moving in this ****"! Let's head in for lunch and some coffee." We walk into the road into our cottage and we see deer tracks getting covered by snow. Looking at them, we determine at least one of three is a buck. A big one. Not running, just walking towards the water. "Well, isn't that something! Right headed to the lake, right between the cottage and the garage where we store the Skidoos!" We stomp the snow off our boots and brush ourselves off before we enter the cottage, only to be stopped by Eileen,(Bill's wife) and Sherron, (my wife), who remark: "I don't know why you guys get up so early and spend the day out in the cold, when the deer come to us." The kids are giggling like crazy. "Don't bother taking your clothes off. You have work to do. Go look in the garage." And there was Mr. buck, nicely opened and drawn, lying on the floor, on top of some plastic sheeting, because they couldn't find the chain fall hoist or get it hung.by themselves. A shotgun and a slug in the hands of some women is a useful tool. Edited November 7 by Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474 2

watab kid
well , based on what i processed through our range today it should be exciting out there tomorrow - our opener is tomorrow , [wonder if gov walz will show up after that defeat ? part of me didnt want him back here bad enough to vote for him - bt that was the irrational , juvenile , selfish side of me that i have tried to leave behind for all these last 7 decades
Rip Snorter
I lived in MN for a long time, saw the slide, but that was not why I left. Just look at this and consider what is vs. what was (a KAMALA clone) https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2024/11/08/tim-walz-hard-to-understand-why-voters-rejected-democrats-vision-for-america/ BTW, see the pictures with his cat. watab kid
im all for either , had folks into the range today that did the deer hunting in the morning but their "scope" was off [ read that as loose or abiout to fall off] had to resight in to go back out in the PM , on the good side i saw two deer taken around the range getting hauled off for processing - two less i have to watch for on my way to work in the morning , had one run into the side of my last truck a few years ago lots of cost for the damage , we need to cull thatr herd folks get out and do your civic duty and shoot them , walz wont , but you can , i got faith in you ,

I was a few weeks ago but he passed by about 100 yards further down the spur. It was too thick and I couldn't get a shot. Last year he did the same thing to me. They do come out during the day, and they sound like a herd of elephants walking through the woods. This year bear season runs through Jan starting back again mid Dec. This weekend starts deer season for guns...in the meantime, I hunt "coyotes". https://sites.google.com/view/44winchester/hunting/2024-hunt

The hanger flew off and hit the door and alerted us! Holy crap it's a bear on the deck!! Hunting season ended yesterday for bears.
Rip Snorter
Had similar, but I was lucky enough to see him romping up the driveway and scare him away with warning shots. 8 rounds of HST, the last close enough to kick dirt and pebbles on him. Hasn't been back. Last year I had one, apparently in residence, and a friend with a Spring Bear license came and got him.
