Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 I liked a hasty sling better. If you adjusted it right it wouldn't tie your arm up when you were ready to move. It just fell loose and became a carrying strap until you needed it again.

I don't know what a "loop sling is" and I've never seen anyone use a sling like that. At one minute into this video is how you use a sling to steady a rifle. Prone, sitting, kneeling or offhand.

The Loop Sling is shown in the picture I posted. We used Loop Slings during Marine Corps rifle training. It's used sitting, kneeling, and prone.
