My clean match went out the window on the last stage, put 6 on the center target instead of 5 and followed it up with a pistol miss. Oh well, Bordertown has been by far the most fun SASS event that I’ve ever attended. I’ll be back.

I just booked an RV campsite for next year.  The Tombstone RV Park (very close to the range) keeps reservations closed except for this years shooters.  After a the match ends they reopen the reservation window.

Our waitress Hanna is a great young lady. She is very busy but checks on us often to see what we need. She’s a real sweetheart.

It’s a bummer that the Depot Steakhouse and the Audie Murphy Museum have closed forever.

Don’t know if I’ll be shooting the last 4 stages. The Casita has abnormal tire wear and the hub on one side was pretty warm when I pulled in on Monday. I found a Mobile RV repair service out of Hereford, Az. that will be here at 9:00. My start time is 11:00 and I know he won’t be done by then.

If he is okay with me going down and shooting, should take about 2 1/2 hours I’ll do it, if not, Oh Well. I asked a match official about doing a later start time with another posse and they said no.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I had a similar type of problem at EOT in 2017.  Tire on the truck picked up a screw and was slowly deflating.  The only place I could find easily in Albuquerque was a Chevy dealer and as I was leaving for Texas after the last four stages that day I had to have it repaired in the morning, which was the posse's start time.

If the guy shows up on time, give him your phone number and he can call you when he's done or if he has a problem.

He’s here. Says the axle is okay but the brake was hanging up on this side and causing the tire wear. I’m having him replace the pads and wheel bearings on this side and he’s going to open up the other side too. Might as well have him do the bearings on that side too.

I’m going to go down and shoot and he’ll come down and find me when he’s done.

Man, this guy is a worker. The one side is done and he’s taking the other hub off now. This side is much better than the first side.

After saying Hi to Yul and his gang at the Crystal Palace, we wandered down to the American Legion. Shortcake made a new friend. “Sarge” is a service dog for a veteran. Great place with great food.

He’s all done at a very reasonable price and he picked up a couple of more jobs while he was here.

The wind favored BP shooters early morning today.  There was always enough air movement for decent stage times.  I met my shooting goals this match.  There was no way as an Elder Statesman I could beat twenty year olds in FC so I focused on shooting clean.  I had a clean match.

In the following video I missed one shotgun target after I shot at one I could not see through the smoke.  Mostly shooting where you think they are works, but not this time.

Yep, I missed 3 and got 2 procedurals and enjoyed the best match I’ve ever attended.

I believe there were 7 clean shooters on our posse. Goes to show that no target is too big or close to miss.

My posse had at least twice as many procedurals as misses.  However, the match was easy to shoot clean.  Bordertown is the one match I can shoot at totally obscured targets and still get a clean match.  Maybe a shooter with long arms and a buntline  could leave powder burns on the targets.
