Check that armswing!  In AFROTC we originally had "six to the front, three to the rear".  Somebody thought that wasn't close enough to the British, so they increased it to "nine to the front, six to the rear".  At least we didn't go to the exaggerated foot stomping!

How the heck did the British come up with that shoulder high arm swing in the first place?  And why?
