help with 38-55 load data

Have a Marlin in 38-55 that I need some starting load data. Having trouble finding published data, Hodgons only has 2 loads listed.

Looking for  mid range data, probably out to 200yrds ....

It came with a bunch of loaded rounds, load listed is 18gr I4227 with a 245 lead bullet.  Shot a few, hitting steel at 150 off hand so they seem to be accurate enough.

Looking for data to load lead plain base 260 grain bullets .380 sized .  Powder I4227, H4198, or trailboss...  pretty sure I can get different weight bullets but powder might be tough to find something different right now, so I would like to load what I have on hand.

About the only thing I have seen is a starting load with H4198 at 21-23 grains?

Anyone have a load they can share using the components I have on hand.

Thanks, LF

Ain't no way you're going to shoot a .430 bullet out of a 38-55.

This isn’t a powder you listed, but I sure like 9.6 Unique with 245-260 grn Bullets out of my Marlin.

I have a Winchester '94 that I use for Big Bore rifle shoots out to 200 yards, and long range cowboy stages out to 80 yards. I load 30 grains of IMR4895 behind a .379, 262 grain lead flat point with gas check. Average chronograph velocity of 1498 ft/sec. Recoil is mild and it's quite accurate. I won a few Big Bore matches with it.

This is my pet load, my Marlin 336 CB likes a bullet diameter of .379, 255 grain RNFP bullet .379, 20.0 grains of Hodgon 4198.

This will be of no help.  However, I am kinda partial to loading 3f APP to the base of a 245Gr cast bullet.  don't know who made 'em but I've got around 700 of 'em.

I use IMR 3031 in .38-55:   30 gr IMR 3031,  240 gr RNFP, Long Star-Line brass, WLR, OAL 2.510".  This is for a Marlin Cowboy.

For my .38-55 High Wall 30 gr IMR 3031, 336 gr RN from a custom Lyman mold, Long Star-Line OAL JUST TOUCHING.
