Question regarding the NRA

Yesterday a neighbor told me that the NRA in the U.S. declared bankruptcy.  Is that true?  I always thought that was one of the strongest lobby groups in the U.S.  I remember film clips of Charlton Heston holding up a musket at the NRA convention saying, "From my cold dead hands."

They filed bankruptcy in New York to get out of there.

Or to get out from under NY law suit?

The NRA is not going away. They are currently undergoing some changes. That’s all I have to say about that.

What we have to remember is that the NRA was so effective because of the millions of engaged members who actively participate in the political process. Those members haven’t gone anywhere.

The NYC State Attorney filed a lawsuit designed to destroy the NRA. So they declared bankruptcy, and are moving from NY to Texas.

It's a reorg bankruptcy not a cancel debts bankruptcy.  They are flush with cash and able to pay all of their creditors according to a long time board member I heard interviewed earlier this week.

I bought every one of my Grandsons a Life Membership to the NRA  too help keep the Fight going strong and get the Next Generation involved .

It’s merely a strategic withdrawal from New York.

The N.R.A. will still have a big presence in Virginia, at their really great N.R.A. museum, plus in Washington D.C. as well.

They are just incorporating here in Texas, because we have a super friendly 2nd Amendment attitude here, and because we want them here, and welcome them here. They will have an office, and a staff, here, but won't be leaving the east.

Our Attorney General, Governor, Lt. Governor, and the vast majority of the Texas legislature, are pro-2nd Amendment, with little pockets of leftist/socialist/demo-rats here and there, from the big cities, that don't trust the citizens of the State, and just want to whine, and raise taxes. Thankfully, here, so far, they are in the minority.

Unlike New York, our Attorney General wants them to relocate here. Their loss, is our gain.

(Colt, and Smith & Wesson are more than welcome to relocate down here too.)

Why be where you are not appreciated, and wanted? So...they decided to move to where they are appreciated, and wanted.

Come on down!!!

It wouldn't hurt my feelings if they left LaPierre behind when they moved.

OK!  That's good to hear.  Thanks for replying.
