I brought my girlfriend(future wife) the our monthly shoot, and she acted very interested throughout the day. On our way home, she tells me, "I need guns now!" And then she spent the trip home looking up aliases. Then when we got home, she filled out her application and she is now awaiting her alias approval. So if you have any huge deals on stuff that you don't need, send me a PM. (Guns(38/357), leather, what not.) Another shout out to the Butterfield Trail Regulators for making a huge difference to the most important person in my life and making her comfortable enough to join in my passion of the game.

Congratulations, but now your gonna spend a lot more money. Those folks at BTR are really great you've found a good home.

You are a lucky man, and  she is a lucky lady.  Same advice for her as everyone else.  Do NOT buy any guns for her until she has had the opportunity to try several different kinds at a monthly shoot.  Do NOT buy something for her because someone else can spare it.  Early marriage is difficult enough without shortening the honeymoon period with guns she won't like or can't shoot well.

And when she decides what she wants, get those for her.  Don't bargain.  Don't flinch at the cost. Your job as a husband is to take care of her, and that means on the range as well.

Thanks everyone! J Bar, she already plays around with my guns and she loves them. (With exception to the '97, it's a little aggressive to operate the action.) I'm just looking for another pair of Vaqueros and another 73 and SxS.

Welcome aboard to your Fiance'      Calling the SASS office is the easiest way to check out an alias BTW. The ladies in the office are great to work with.

Howdy,

Congratulations to you both! Should be a lot of great days on down the trail. By the by, what's her alias?

Buy once, cry once. Buy her the best. If Mama's guns don't work at a match - mama is not a happy camper. I wish I could afford guns for me like I bought for my wife.

That's great! Welcome to the best sport in the World!

Very good advice. My sweet husband researched and got me a 20ga hammered SG... shot one match with it. Found a nice 1894 Marlin but bought a Rossi '92 for backup - didn't workout so sold it.  Then, we bought a bit at a time.  That was 5 years ago and I only "upgraded" from my "entry level" guns and leather a year or so ago when I bought a bullet business - which meant I was committed to the game - plus, I won several gun at banquets and sold them or traded them for guns or gunsmithing work. Shoot what you can til you can get what she wants.  It'll probably be cheaper in the long run!
