Rye Miles #13621 Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Well we just had the last shoot of the year ( around here anyway) and I have officially completed one whole year shooting smokeyless!! I have to say while I do miss the boom and flame and smoke I don't miss the cleaning, loading, brass cleaning, and extra $$$. I'm fine with smokeless and I actually enjoy shooting just as much as I always have! So…the old saying, "Once you go black, you can never go back" is BS!!!!! Ol' Smokeyless Rye
Tyrel Cody Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Congratulations pard, I'm sure you have endured a lot of ribbing. The important thing is you're still shooting and having a great time. Sincerely, Tyrel "Ol' Smokey" Cody

El Hombre Sin Nombre Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 I'm closing in on a year myself, but of shooting black instead. I can't imagine how you could ever go back to smokeless after that. Maybe In a decade or so I'll see it, but I just can't right now. Must be all the smoke in my eyes
Sixgun Seamus Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Rye, you know we will all be hard on your case whether you shoot black or smokeyless. That half the fun at Firelands is pokin' at Rye😆😉😁 Thanks for a great year. BTW - Kay says she want to make a habit of beating you next year.
Prairie Dawg, SASS #50329 Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Rye is good natured about the ribbing he take from everyone.................................................................................... Don Coyote, SASS #63736 Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Smoke or smokeless, H-m-m-m? We (me & Squeaky Hare) started shootin' smoke in 2011. We both won Bordertown in '13 and Squeak won BT in '11, '12 & '13, plus WR in '14. Then crap happened, my shoulder rebuild in '14 & her cancer & treatment this year. Been some restricted shootin' for the coyote & the hare for a coupla' yrs. Anyway, we'll be back in form in '16, hopefully, but we're gonna' start out with the boring stuff for awhile 'cause I don't have to clean guns so often. But dollars ta' donuts we'll be back to the black before BT '16 & WR '17. I just love shootin' at targets I can't see, but I gotta' get over sayin' sh--t when I don't hear the "klang" & help out the spotters who wouldn't have seen the miss if I had kept my freakin' mouth shut. BP is just plain too much fun!!
Rye Miles #13621 Posted November 23, 2015 Author Posted November 23, 2015 I feel sorry for you!!! Please don't, I'm having the time of my life!
Two Spurs Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I feel sorry for you!!! No, no, no!.... Mr. Rye Miles shall be an inspiration to all who want to escape! And no he didn't use a 12 step plan. He used the 10-10-4 plan... Glad you are enjoying the new adventure! Spread the love!
I. M. Crossdraw, SASS# 8321 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Rye, You just want to stir the pot a little. You just want more attention.
Lefty Lobo Lee SASS #40314 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Rye gets picked on? Never knew that! He still shoots a BP caliber, so he hasn't totally come clean
Rye Miles #13621 Posted November 23, 2015 Author Posted November 23, 2015 Rye gets picked on? Never knew that! He still shoots a BP caliber, so he hasn't totally come clean I'm leaving my options open so ya never know what smoke lurks around the corner That and the fact that all my cowboy guns are .44-40!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm He probably wants to switch to 32's so he can get those little primers pushed in on his Dillon! And probably he's gonna start shootin two handed next year.
Thunder Creek Kid Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I heard from a reliable source that he has trouble loading the 44-40 in a new Winchester.
Korupt Karl Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Rye; They all said it right.....if you still enjoy it and continue to do it.....that's all that matters. I've been shooting 32's for about a year of so and without them I wouldn't be shooting. They are lighter and with my beat up shoulders I can hold em up. If anyone says something negative about the loads, etc. I simply say.....here take my gun, load it and shoot yourself in the foot. If the lead bounces off your boot, then I will agree.... KK

KK That's the way to tell 'em Karl! That snarly lowdown Prairie Dawg is the one that started this rumor about me going to .32's!!!! I'm not going to .32's, I have too many guns in .44-40! (BTW, if I did go to .32's are you guys jealous? )
