True there wasn't much action, just drama.

But I liked it just fine.

I liked it as well. Better than most of the garbage on TV to boot.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that Bohannen's women folk to tend to last!

Life's hard in the west. ;)

I am afraid the season Finale is going to leave us with more questions than answers. The news paper lady is wanting to write the truth, but will they let her? Bohannon is on the verge of leaving, and the rest are too weak to take on anything. If they do not allow them to finish the RR and the main characters survive the show will be lost for good. I have thought about it and the writers have allowed all the strong women to get killed off for various reasons and are not there to help in the closing of this fine show. Bohannon sees the writing on the wall and will leave for the Fort and his family. He will have to do something with the Swede or die. There is a lot of good show left if they don't just end it and walk away.

I thought I read somewhere that they were only planning one more season, next year being it. Hopefully they will finish it out smoothly, not just quit like they did with Deadwood. Still unhappy they didn't finish that one.

They said on the radio today .

There was more viwers on The walking dead on Sunday .

Then there was on football !

I watch the show but like a lot have said, It's tedious.

The way the episodes run it seems like they write them week to week. Their killing off of main characters and eye popping (out) scenes makes me think they're trying to compete with The Walking Dead which HoW will never come close to matching.

I've watched it from season 1 and will finish it but all in all I think the show had much more potential than what was produced.

YMMV

Walking dead?? I'd almost rather watch Real Housewives of................... than that crap! Almost!!

Hell on Wheels is at least believable!

Of course, everybody has their preferences. I don't like Scotch or green peas either!

I don't have to watch believable shows. :D

Uh....okay. What's the connection?

I don't either, but I do have to be informed or entertained. Real Housewives and Walking Dead do neither for me.

Chocolate or vanilla?? ;)

Trust me!! You ain't missed nothin'!! Schoolmarm watches DVRed episodes and I get a glance now and then as I pass through the living room. About the most offensively STUPID garbage I've had the displeasure of seeing. They ain't housewives and they ain't real either. <_<

Interesting interview with John Wirth, the Show Runner for HOW. Looks like the show will end with a golden spike afterall....

Q: Have you started to get sentimental about the show entering its final season? Can you give us any hints about what to expect in Season 5? – MarMin

A: I am getting sentimental. Both Anson [Mount] and I spoke about the bittersweet nature. We all feel gratified that we’ve had this many episodes to tell this story and that we’ll be able to tell it through to the end. I can tell you what the end to the story is: pounding the golden spike at Promontory. I can also say that we’ll be exploring the Central Pacific side of the railroad next year, including the Chinese laborers; Cullen will be searching for his family; we’ll see a lot more of Huntington and his relationship with Cullen; and we’ll be dealing with building the railroad through the mountain, which may perhaps involve tunneling. That’s about all I can say!

The link to the interview is here.

I hope Cullen comes back with a little more spine in season 5.

Posted

More spine? Dude, he's just a man (and a flawed one) not a super hero. ;) Maybe that's his allure.

There's a pretty big difference in him between season one and four.

No way the church lady would have hung in season one, is all I'm saying.

Yea, but Bohannon really had no control over that. She was found guilty and plus SHE wanted to die!

The Bohannon from season 1/2 would have killed that feller long before she ever got the chance.

I hated that episode's story line. They took 21st century social/legal norms and applied them in a 19th century setting. In the 1860s in the Territories, she would have been given a medal. There may have been a coroner's inquest, but definitely no trial. Probably not even any charges filed.

Not necessarily. Sid was a war buddy. Bohannon might have even been less inclined to kill him in season 1. He was still pretty close to the war then in his mind.

They tried the Earps didn't they? ;)

Bohannon from season one would have pulled the trigger in the general store when Sid endangered his wife and if not then would certainly have hunted him down for causing that boy to be burned alive. The writers made him a little too soft lately.

I'll be happy with whatever the season finale is as long as the Swede dies a long, horrible, merciless, painful, disfiguring, barbarous, cruel, inhumane, pitiless, unsparing, wanton death.

It doesn't take much to make me happy. Really. :)

Don't mince words, tell us how you really feel.

Not quite. Actually, after Ike Clanton filed murder charges against the Earps, Wells Spicer presided over a hearing that took on the appearance of a trial, but was not. In the end, Spicer concluded there was not enough evidence to indict the Earps. It was, and still is, the longest preliminary hearing in the history of Arizona, lasting about a month.

Bohannon is not soft. He is complex.

If the Swede was lurking hereabouts, he would quickly remind you that he's NORWEGIAN.

I'm sure she would have said that you HAVE a 'complex'.......:lol::P

OLG

Now that's funny!!!!

Since they have revealed the series will end at the driving of the Golden Spike, I am predicting that while that actual event will be happening there will be a final showdown between Bohannon and The Swede. I think Bohannon is just a guy who does what he has to do, not necessarily a stone killer. In the first season it started with him hunting down the men who killed his wife and child so he was out for revenge, but once that was done kind of returned to "normal".
