  1. There is one on indoor display at the Air Force Museum, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. Unfortunately, to fit it into the display building, two 20 foot "plugs" were removed form the fuselage. 20 Ft in front of the wing and 20 Ft behind the wing. When I visited some years ago, the Guide Dude didn't believe me when I told him the airplane was 40 feet "short." He ran off and then found me 15 minutes later to say I was correct. He was some amazed. 40 feet short and it's still HUGE.
  2. Shotgun Boogie offers a real spiffy plug for the Lever Lock Hole.
  3. I'm sorry. In my bit of the swamp it ain't hardly "Spring" yet. No way.
  4. I have had/used "Contour" cut or "Curved" gun belts for years and years. I find them to be much Much more comfortable for a long day or days of CAS than any straight belt. Generally for "women" be is only because the guys haven't tried a contour gun belt.
  5. Hey Blackwater Your Wish has been Granted - TWINKIES!!
  6. Specifically just to make folks ask "Why the New Sleeves." Worked too
  7. Good plan Widder. Da game is 'posed to be FUN. I turned 76 this past October. Shoot Frontier Cartridge Gunfighter. Been doin it with CAP GUNS !! SNUBBIES no less. Gobs of fun. Though recently I did spring for a new pair of Suppository Shooters. Wid 3 1/2 in Octagonal Barrels no less. How the heck do ya stuff Powder-n-Ball inna suppository shooter anyway??
  8. Everybody knows the NASA Photoshopped the earth to make it look like a ball. It's still just as flat as ever
  9. Well, I try real hard not to drop mine. I do get annoyed when some Ham Hock steps on one. Other than that, I have not had to "re-size" mine in 8 0r 9 seasons of use. Unless someone steps on one. I've been shooting them in 4 different doubles with no problem at all. If needed, I do have the RCBS Shell Holder and Die set. I use the RCBS die primarily for de-priming and re-priming.
  10. Actually, "Sniper" made a perfect soft landing. Then fell over and rolled down slope. OOPS
  11. PLUS ONE FOR Savvy Jack. The current industry standard for .44 Barrels is .429. Ruger is famous or infamous for undersized Cylinder Throats. Both sets of cylinders should have the throats reamed to a correct 429/430. It is not uncommon to see Ruger cylinders with throats down to .425.
  12. I haven't seen any shortage of powder over the last couple of years. Not at All. Of course, I shoot APP and have never run short. Try It - Yule like it!!
  13. Since we don't use much paper these days, I see them a pretty much useless unless it includes a Bottle Opener.
  14. I found the ABSOLUTE best way to prepare Duck is to order it from the MENU at "Mori Moto" Disney Springs. YUM
  15. I normally refer to that behavior as "Checking The Mail"
  16. Hi Doc. Yes several. First up. Find a different "Fellow." Chances are the Cartridge Stop Tab on the Ladle (loading gate) has broken off, allowing the cartridge to slide back into the lock works. The "fellow" who fit your Pioneer short stroke kit screwed up the Carrier Block Lifter Arm and you will probably need a new one to go to your new hopefully competent "fellow" for fitting. When you get the new ladle, have the stop tab reenforced so it won't break again. Oh, almost forgot. With the Stop Tab on the Ladle broken, your "fellow" could NOT have tested it.
  17. IRON JIM, Part of an answer. From Uberti (Cimarron) you're not going to find over the counter Colt SAA pattern guns with Army (the largest) grip sets. The only Uberti offerings with Army grips will be Open Tops and Conversions with 7 1/2 inch barrels. From Pietta (EMF Co.) the only available choice is the "Alchemista" and at that you will be limited to a 5 1/2 inch barrel. I don't personally know of anyone making Hard Rubber Colt style grips to fit either Uberti or Pietta.
  18. Over the years I have had the same results as Griff. Very few cases cracked at the case mouth but "some" cases just split in the body. I have however, been annealing my cases to get a good chamber seal in rifles and eliminate Blow-By. All bets are off however with Nickel brass. Those split like crazy. Running Semi-Wadcutters in our lever rifles will not give harmonious results. Jamming will be constant. Best bet will be most any of the 180Gr or 200Gr RNFP bullets which are designed to be crimped IN the crimp groove for a good functional overall length. I don't seat and crimp with a single die. Separate seating and crimping as I load on a DILLON 650.
  19. Yep. Pioneer Gunworks offers a complete barrel band front sight with LARGE bead. Iffin you can't see it, you really need a Dog!!
  20. PLUS ONE for THE Prairie Dawg At one time when I started down the Percussion Road, I had (and still have) enough cylinders to shoot a whole entire TWO day match. Horse Feathers!! Atz a whole gob of cleaning and I'm lazy. TWO cylinders are plenty. My Main Match Percussion guns are a pair of Pietta 1851 .44 SNUBBIES. I load between stages on a cylinder loading stand. I Wipe down the cylinder face, the Arbor and the Barrel Breach between each stage. That way the guns run free and easy the whole match. I DO run a cap thru each chamber before first match loading. I also "PIC" each nipple after loading during the match. My guns are built to be as reliable as any Suppository shooter. When you shoot Gunfighter with Cap Guns, hiccups and fail to fire cannot be tolerated. Same same applies to my Pietta .36 Capt. Schaffer 1851 replicas.
  21. There are a few of them in my neck of the woods. Not as prolific as they once were though. Postal service got tired of clowns throwing stuff in the mail boxes that destroyed the mail.
  22. HiYa Matt!! Yepper!! I have one on both of my 650s and it works quite well. However I will add, there is a complete "kit" by "Hit Factor" you should also add to your 650. In combination, they really really smooth out the operation of a 650!! Capt. Burt, The roller bearing smoothes out travel of the Indexing Cam. I don't know what that "extra" screw on the top actually accomplishes. I know of no reason to mess with the primer depth. There are actually two makers of this little doo dad. I don't know if the "other one" has a "depth stop" now.
