  2. Guys, three are people actually dealing with dementia -- either personally or as care givers. Having every conversation that even remotely touches on the subject twisted into a political ya-ya gets old pretty quick.
  3. Today
  4. I got to wondering if the different broods of cicadas interbreed and in five minutes learned more about bugs than I ever wanted to know. no, they are different species. Some broods even consist of multiple species.
  5. It has and will happen often enough that a set should be made with the White House imprints.
  6. A man buys a Robot and brings it home to his wife and son. Son: "What is it?" Dad: "It's a lie detector robot". Son: "No way!". Dad: "It really is. Here goes, why weren't you at school today?" Son: "I WAS at School!" The Robot slaps the son. Son: "OK! OK! I snuck out with a friend to watch a movie!" Dad: "Oh... Which movie was it?" Son:"...The new one..."Fast and Furious 12"..." The Robot slaps the son. Son: "OK! OK! It was a porn movie!" Dad:"WHEN I WAS YOUR AGE I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT PORN WAS!!!" The Robot slaps the Father. The mother laughs out loud: "Well, he IS your son..." The Robot slaps the mother.
  7. Your guy may not have dementia, but he is undoubtedly demented.

  9. Blue Skies and Tailwinds, Bud.... I got to meet him about forty years ago. I was impressed.
  10. I was passing a tractor trailer one time, and there was a loud BOOM, and a sudden pain in my upper chest. The trucks tire must have decapped, and a strip of rubber about a foot and a half long hit me. I managed to pull over safely, still not knowing what had happened. I thought I had been shot! Because of the boom and the sudden instant pain. When I pulled up my shirt to check the damage, I had a welt from under my armpit all the way down to my belt line. It was purple, about 2+ inches wide and was swollen up about 3/4 to an inch high. Damn, that hurt for about a week. I generally avoid passing trucks if at all possible now!!
  11. That ain't no mouse ~ thass a "mini 'dillo." Bait that trap with a dab o' Purina Armadillo Chow."

  14. lookin good bob , i rather like celery myself - with a bit of peanut butter if you please
  15. well , ill not say i think this is an answer in my experience others experiences may vary , my mother died of Alzheimer's back in 2010 , prior to that one of theur dear friends suffered from the same , recently my MIL has been suffering dementia , from what ive seen this is not going to be much help , there is nothing more sad than watching a relative , in-law , friend go through this , its just not fair to either the person suffering or those sharing and caring for them , i dont believe we were meant to live like or with this
  16. we had a paper mill here back when i bought my house , mostly the smell went the other way but once a year or maybe twice we got it - not fun , but they never thought it feasible [economical] to capture all that methane , im not thinking it is today either but much like the solar and wind that the government is subsidizing as well as the alcohol , if they pay out our money - there are folks that will take it till it runs out , no efforts will be made to create a better product that is more economical , not will they look to make them more productive or efficient free taxpayer money does not inspire R&D as always im saying get the government out of the equation and we will see great development - if it stays in we see graff and exploitation as well as government corruption by officials that we elected to serve us ,
  17. there is nothing worse that a large bug to the head at speed on the open road - OK , maybe that bee that goes up your sleeve and stings you multiple times is really bad too , ok hail in a summer storm is bad , ya - now i remember why i sold my bike and bought my boat - i still have that
  18. I remember reading something one time. This guy's in the men's room at the urinals, and this little kid comes in. There were no kid size urinals, so this little boy is standing on his tippy toes so he's high enough that he can pee over the lip. And he's trying so hard not to pee on the wall and not to pee on the urinal, and the guy is watching because this is just astounding to watch. And then the little kid realizes that there's a strange man standing next to him watching him pee. And he freaks. Starts screaming, PERVERT!!! I remember another "kid at the urinal" story. Two kids. No children size urinals. So one boy got down on his hands and knees and the other one stood on his back to be high enough to pee, and then they changed places.

  21. Did not look like (s)he wanted to be there, either.
  22. OK, here is a call for help. I just recruited a new shooter - he shot two matches and is fully hooked. He needs to register but can't pick a name. Here is a problem - he is a relatively fresh-of-the-boat immigrant from Belarus. Came here in his early 40s, been here for about 10-12 years. his English is very decent, as long as he stays within day-to-day or related to his work topics. He is not familiar with Cowboy/Western or really much of American pop culture. he is an avid shooter and firearm collector but more of the generic type. so, let's see what you can come up with - his name is Alex, he is from Belarus, not from Russia. He works in paintless dent repair industry, he likes shooting and racing go-carts... GO! I suggested "Al Dente" but he did not like it
