Everyone knows how much I preach about supporting the merchants who support our game. It’s on each of us to spend a little with them. You might think you don’t need a new vest or more loading supplies — but trust me, you need them more than you realize. Without their support, our matches would struggle. In June, I shot the Regulators Reckoning at Wartrace, and Michigan Rattler was a match sponsor. My gun belt was cinched to the smallest hole, and I needed new leather (again) after losing a lot of weight. Naturally, I reached out to Michigan Rattler and commissioned a dress belt (for everyday wear and my Frontiersman buckle), a new shotgun belt, and a new gun belt. The new leather arrived today, and it’s exceptional — top-notch quality and craftsmanship. I’ll be shooting with the new gear this weekend and will report back on just how much faster his leather is than anyone else’s! Big thanks to Michigan Rattler for supporting our game, and the outstanding products and exceptional service — all at a fair price!

I actually did see this on a stall wall. For a good time call, 867-5309 Jenny It was after the song came out though.

Many of us carry spare holsters for new shooters. If you came to one of my matches, I could loan you some you some. However, you would need belts that fit your shooters as I lack belts of needed lengths. My range also has three loaner gun carts for new or visiting shooters. There might be sone available to you to when you visit a club. You don't need shotgun shell belts as shells can be positioned at shooting positions ahead of time. 20 gauge is a legal shotgun caliber for CAS. Load with what you own to start with. Hodgdon lists some reduced recoil loads for 3/4 oz 20 gauge using Universal powder. Unfortunately, this powder is currently unavailable. However, the Wire can recommend light 20-gauge loads with available powders if you ask. My wife and I will shoot the Western Regional (your regional) in Nevada in November. With a few matches under your belt, you would be ready for your regional. Ask to posse with the Hart Family. They may come from Colorado. They travel a bit for CAS.

Honey is a common source of botulism poisoning in infants and children less than 12 months of age. Older children and adults are less likely to suffer the symptoms of botulism. I like honey and eat it often. I am 81 years old. Do your research and proceed safely.

I think it should be offered and timed separately from the regular categories. It would add many new shooters that can not afford the guns yet and for those that say to load their own.... that is another cost and learning process all in itself. I will take my 22's out for side matches any time I can and bring them to our monthly match for anyone to try. Let's focus on growing our sport and lowering the entry cost by adding the category. They can move to 38's or whatever they like after they get started.

Just a thought. Son and I shared two pistols, a rifle and a shotgun our first few years shooting SASS. Y’all don’t need 8 pistols, 4 rifles and 4 shotguns before y’all start participating. Shucks if you let the match director know y’all are a coming many a time Cowpokes will proved what y’all need for a few match’s.

Not everyone shoots for competition! I personally have never come in first place unless I was the only shooter in my category! But when my son wanted to start at 8, he had a pair of Colt Nebraska Commemorative pistols and a Winchester 9422 to start with a couple of Big Ed holsters!! He had a great time with them until someone let him try a Vaquero in .357 magnum and from there he was shooting my .44 Vaqueros and sharing a Browning 92 with me. Point being I am a Life member happy to shoot my club, dressed like John Wayne. I would go to a larger match, but to see the vendors!! But nothing against you that want to compete and that’s your option. I remember a lot of back about 15 years ago when everyone was switching to .38s in Vaqueros and Marlins because they were the fastest and “slickable”, while the rest of us stayed with .45s and .44s, very few .44-40s at the time. Lots of choices for fun.

I’ve got a pair of stainless steel Ruger OMV, a pair of SS Ruger Old Armies and a pair of SS 1958 Remingtons. Clean all my cowboy guns with Ballistol and do not polish my SS revolvers or the brass of my 1866 carbine.

I only clean my cylinder faces on my Stainless BMV’s periodically but when I do, I use Flitz brass & copper tarnish remover. READ and FOLLOW the instructions and you will be amazed. Spray on wait 10 seconds and wipe off, then rinse profusely in water. Alittlule goes a long ways! i wouldn’t use this on blued guns or get it on my wooden grips but it melts the carbon right off. https://a.co/d/9zNMU1l

Guns, holsters, gun belts and gun modifications must conform to the rules and may, or may not, use period correct materials. There have never been cart material/appearance/construction rules that I'm aware of. There are many items directly involved in a SASS match that are NOT period correct...that blue plastic thing that beeps for one! -
Listen to @Beartrap SASS#57175 he will led you in the right direction. You will find that SASS folks are one big family and very welcoming and helpful.

I bought a truck 18 months ago through Carvana, was the easiest, smoothest car buying transaction I've ever done, other than handing a guy a big stack of hundreds. Pictures are great, getting to see the Carfax helps a lot, everything done online. Had to be delivered to Tucson from South Dakota or somewhere up there, took four or five days. Truck was spotless inside and out, fluid levels were good. Hardest part of the whole transaction was uploading a picture of my driver's license. (don't ask)
