Sedalia Dave
"Chad doing a herding dog demonstration at the Putnam County Fair in Cookeville, TN. It was a small part of the demonstrations he did with our border collies herding ducks. The dogs are imported Roy, imported Lass, and Celt" 2

Pat Riot
That’s really cool, SD. How are they with herding cats or politicians? At one of the rail lines I worked at in Long Beach CA there was a property next to our rail yard that the folks that set up shop that trained dogs for herding. They trained them for sheep, donkeys, geese and ducks. It was quite interesting to watch.

Perhaps; they would have to be clipped after each molt as new feathers grow in. That's a lot of ducks to clip. Maybe the farmers have the time. Gateway Kid SASS# 70038 Life
Look similar to the Indian Runners that we used to train our Australian Shepherd’s. Cheaper than sheep, about the same as chickens in terms of how hard they are to train and pretty durable when they get laid on or crammed into a tight pen. PS They run, don’t fly. Warden Callaway
Mom had all kinds of poultry. I can't remember the ducks or geese really flying. They could run and kind of lift off and come back down. Found this: Quote most domestic breeds of ducks have lost their ability to fly there are exceptions: Muscovies, Calls, East Indies and domesticated Mallards can all fly to some …

J.D. Daily
I wonder how well herding dogs do with geese?
