Roger Rapid Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Anyone using Bullseye for CAS .38 loads? If so, got a good recipe with 120's? Thx... RR
Major E A Sterner #12916 Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 I used 4.5 gr (four point five grains) of Bullseye with 125 grain in both .38 & .357 cases before I ran out and switched to Cleanshot. You could probably back it down to 4.0 (Four point zero)
Garrison Joe, SASS #60708 Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 I use BE in the Cowboy .45 Special, with 4,2 grains under a 175 grain slug. I'm sure in .38 you can use a fair amount less than that with excellent consistency and accuracy. good luck, GJ
Dream Chaser, SASS #79316 Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 I no longer se Bullseye but when I did two years ago I used 2.9 with 105s and 120s.
Hoss Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 I’ve shot thousands with 3.0 bullseye. It’s a good powder for our game. I’ve never found it to be position or temperature sensitive. Does not come close to filling case, so be careful not to double charge. I’ve used regular and magnum primers, no difference. I shoot 105s in my pistols, 130s in rifle, both same powder charge of 3.0.
J-BAR #18287 Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 2.7 grains of Bullseye under a 158 grain bullet works dandy on pistol knockdowns. Yes, clubs here still use pistol knockdowns.
Go West Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 My Lyman manual says 3.2 gr. for a 125 gr. bullet for about 750 fps.
Roscoe Regulator Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook shows 120 gr bullet with 2.8 gr at 690 fps minimum, 4.6 max at about 1000 fps.
Roger Rapid Posted November 9, 2021 Author Posted November 9, 2021 Thanks Roscoe Regulator... I couldn't find reference for Bullseye for .38s in any of the books. Appreciate the input. RR

Bucky Buckskin Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 3.0 gr across the board for all bullet weights
