It's an Eagles concert, and they bring out Linda Ronstadt. As she's coming out the guy describes her as "our favorite girl singer".

Can you still say girl singer today? Is it ISN'T that demeaning? :P

I saw Linda Ronstadt live in a tiny club in Marin County in the 60s.
Incredible voice and performance.
And a mouth that had a Masters Degree in both Sailor and Truck Driver.

As much as I admire her voice, she's just another woke liberal... and I have no use for them.

"The guy" speaking is Glen Frye; the term "girl singer" was common parlance at the time, with no negative connotation express or implied.

I couldn't care less about her politics; I fell in love with her voice when she sang with the Stone Ponies, and her songs have touched my soul ever since.  I feel sorry for anyone who shuts out a performer based upon his/her politics; they are missing out on so much for no good reason.

I saw her about that same time at a club in Santa Ana, and you're right.  I was a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps at that time and she embarrassed me.

She's from Tucson, Arizona guys, give Linda a break. I know lots of women who swear like sailors, just pi$$ one off.

She has a beautiful singing voice.
