Abilene Slim SASS 81783
We were visiting my son and wife in Flagstaff this past weekend. Among the treats was lunch at a place that served "Scotch Eggs" as an appetizer. Hard boiled egg wrapped with pork sausage, then breaded and fried. Never heard of them before and they were dee-lightful! Shown with honey mustard dip, a dash of paprika and optional Guinness.

They've been a camping staple for us for decades. A great, easy, high protein hand food.

Had a great breakfast there. We also like the Downtown Diner which is a half block from the Hotel Monte Vista.

Subdeacon Joe
Try making them with Italian sausage or chorizo. And baked rather than fried.
Big Sage, SASS #49891 Life
Have to try them next month. Going to Twin Arrows (as recommended by UB) for our 55th Anniversary.

Sweet or spicy? I’ve done sweet, must try spicy. Maybe with quail eggs...

Either one, although I do prefer the sweet. I tend to avoid things like spicy sausage or hot links. I've found that either they don't taste any different than the mild, or they are so hot that you can't taste anything but hot. Almost never is there a middle ground. Alpo
Yep. When I was in my late 20s/early 30s, I was all about the heat. The spicier the better. Now I'm all about the flavor. Use very little heat in my cooking. Because, as you said, all you taste is the hot.
Choctaw Jack
Big Sage Plus one to the Twin Arrows! We usually stop on our way to or from Winter Range.Had one of the best prime rib dinners there.Price was very reasonable and they permit overnight RV camping in their parking lot. Joke 'um
I don't see the Scotch. Is it like a side dish? Do you pour it into your beer? What's the deal here?
Alpo
It's mixed in with the mustard.
Forty Rod SASS 3935
Looks nasty. I hope it tastes better than it looks because based on appearance I wouldn't know if I was supposed to eat it or if someone already had.
