Widder, SASS #59054
I'm sitting here on Saturday morning watching a Western titled... "Trackdown". Robert Culp plays some kind of lawman, or it appears that is his role. Anyhow, I just realized that he just doesn't look 'Tough'. To me, he looks more 'sinister'. I think part of the success with some of our Western movies is that some of the 'Lawmen' (Texas Ranger, Sheriff, Bounty Hunter, etc...) actually looked tough. For example, Matt Dillon looked very convincing when he told someone to get outta town. I thought Hugh O'brien had a convincing tough 'walk' in his Wyatt Earp series. The DUKE looked 'tough' whether he was in the Marines or riding a stage coach. AND..... I'm surprised that Father Kit Cool didn't start this thread because he was probably thinking the same thing. ..........Widder

Even when I posted this comment, it kept wanting to change it back to 'Crackdown'. Computers are nice, but they don't know everything..... P.S. - thanks for your post.....I'm gonna modify my OT and correct it. ..........Widder

James Arness was 6' 7". I watched a couple episodes of Gunsmoke the other day and noticed that his Winchesters looked like reduced-scale replicas in his hands. If somebody like that told you to get out of town you'd better listen, because he was big enough to punt-kick you like a football into the next county! . Sixgun Sheridan
I just watched Open Range tonight. Kevin Costner is usually a fairly wooden actor but he did a pretty good job looking p!$$ed off at people in this one.
