Ric Gringo Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Ric Gringo Here. SASS 114530 I just started this adventure. Only been actually shooting sanctioned events for 5 months. Registered last may. Did a couple non sanctioned events in April to get my feet wet and try out different loaner firearms then my first match in AZ in October. Just completed my third match this month with a mix of my own and loaner stuff. Finally have all my own firearms and just finalized a deal for a leather rig yesterday on this forum. Here with my daughters boyfriend who went with me for one of the matches in between his fire shifts and was graciously given some loaner gear to try by one of the great members . Hopefully he can get into this as well. 6 Quote

Brazos Bottom Bill Miller Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Howdy! I just joined today, and hope to have fun a little, get to know people a little, and learn a little.| I've got a Marlin 1894 Classic .357, two Uberti Cattleman II in .357 and a Stoeger Coach gun. I don't have a belt rig or cart yet, but am looking. Thinking about building something for the cart. Looking for a inexpenive belt and holster. I also have my reloading stuff coming too. 3 Quote

Welcome aboard Brazos! Try to get out to a match and try some equipment before buying. Pards will usually be right there to let you try out their stuff. Also post on the wire a separate post introducing yourself. Hang on for the addiction! 2 Quote

I found a great group in North Zulch, about 10 minutes away fom me. I got to do a stage for one of the cowboys, and I thought I did pretty good. Also got to shoot after the contest. That was in February, and the fever took hold. Now I have already purchased a Marlin 1894 Classic in .357, two Uberti Cattleman in .357 and a Stoeger coach gun in SXS this month. I also bought a Lee 40th Classic reloader in .357. Looking to buy the Lee 90110? for shotgun. Thanks for letting me in! Edited April 8 by Brazos Bottom Bill Miller spelling 2 Quote

Dapper Dave Posted June 5 Posted June 5 (edited) Dapper Dave's the name, always up for an honest game. SASS#114887 Casa Grande, Arizona, a true AZ born native. Started SASS November of 2024, first match was actually the Annual Match, and that was fun. I went to a match to watch in October last year, then did my orientation with Rio Salado Cowboys in Mesa, AZ, and I was hooked. Nicest bunch of people I've met yet. Guns are a pair of Uberti Ranch Hands now, Heritage 92 and a Stoeger 12 ga SXS. My wife has been 100% supportive of this venture and bought an outfit herself when we tour Bordertown later this year. I've only shot 4 actual matches, and I can't wait to get out there again this Saturday. Summer look, light white shirt and wide white hat, this time with air holes in it! The last hat I bought had no air holes and turned out to be a oven on my head. No, I have no idea why I have such a goofy expression. Edited June 5 by Dapper Dave 8 Quote
