How many where someone walked into the discussion and had to get in on a conversation with a topic that was at best peripherally related, if at all? Online, you can read the progression, but it’s not that different from any long discussion you’ve ever been part of in mixed company.But yes, I have posted specific questions on forums on one subject, even writing, “I don’t need to know subject X, just need subject Y: and yet, someone always chimes in with X anyway.
