  3. THANKS. I don't always think PWB is correct but suppose he has far more followers than you and I in the SASS Wire world. I still believe action taken is legal, however shooter might be best to keep one's mouth shut as to that terrible work "intent". As TO I might definitely just say "DUMP" when confusion is inevitable. Heck, I might even be confused. I was hesitant to post on that OP but did anyway. Not sorry, as I do remember the discussion many years ago. SOG can be down right nasty. Hope that door has not been "opened". See ya soon. Drive safe to EOT. bb

  8. I won't post a public answer to your survey on transgenders. Being a MD of state match that has a young lady who is transitioning to a male, I find myself in a difficult position when it comes to making a public comment on this somewhat touchy subject. She/he has facial hair and boobs....an odd combo. She sometimes dresses in bloomers and a camisole and at other times it's all about looking like he's just off the range from the cattle drive. She has definitely improved her shooting in recent years. Is it because of practice, or is it because of the testosterone she takes? As long as the driver's license says F on it she can, be a "Cowgirl". I found myself having to research this in order to be prepared for anyone questioning why our 1st place Cowgirl has very obvious facial hair. I don't understand this whole gender reassignment trend, nor do I pretend to. Male or female by way of change, you still have those favorite colors, foods, performers, insecurities, etc. When it's all over, many now find that it didn't solve a thing. However, transitioning back is no longer an option. Treatment for mental illness among those that find themselves unhappy with the transition is growing. I treat people the way they treat me and will treat her/him along those lines. I even told her that I don't understand the trans thing, and mean no disrespect, and hoped she would accept that from me. As a MD, I also try to treat all my shooters equally. I have gone toe to toe with a couple over the years that disprespected me and/or other shooters. I won't stand for that and I won't stand for a transgender shooter disprespecting SASS, our shooters, or the posse and thinking they can do so because they are a transgender. In answer to the survey which specifically calls out men in women's categories, personally I don't like it. I think we are setting back the women's movement and ERA. There is nothing "equal" about changing gender, race, etc. to get any type of competitive advantage. Can a young caucasion undergo plastic surgery to look Asian in order to qualify for a college scholarship? Where will the line be drawn?

  17. So true, soon after buying a basket case 97 and one that would not take down I realized what was going on. "................ I can't tell you how many 1897's I've seen for sale at Gun shows with the mag tube in upside down. I've been allowed to fix a lot of them for the owners, in just 10 minutes with my Swiss Army Knife and they've been very thankful. Some just don't care and say NO, it'll sell anyway. You can't believe how much easier it is to take down and put together a proper '97 with everything right. No forcing of parts and it works so much better. I was wondering if your Mag tube was in correctly, or upside down. The little piece of Metal with the 2 small screws holding it on the tube in front of the wood should always be under the barrel, not on the bottom when assembled. The later ones had a pushed up bump instead of the screwed one on the tube...again under the barrel, not on the bottom. That way the interrupted threads can line up with the ones in the receiver correctly. Just sayin'" I couldn't have said it any better. That and putting the ring in backwards. Also found one where the nimrod filled off most of the nub on the ring, so it would work, yikes.

  19. Music has charms to soothe a savage breast. Music has the power to enchant even the roughest of people. This proverb comes from the play The Mourning Bride, by William Congreve, an English author of the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries.

  22. Rick, I found that on ebay. it's a lazy susan type device that will hold 8 toolheads, caliber conversions and case gages. It was a little pricey, but a real space saver. I wish I could think outside the box like that.

  25. Not sure about if they will post the stages. But many matches no longer post posse lists due to so many wanting to swap posses - only to want to swap again when someone else does. So it creates a LOT of extra work. But they will allow folks to ask about switching when they sign up, but probably get only one change per person.

  27. WD, I have two 1050s, Both called Super 1050 and both setup for 38 sp. I know one is tad different in a few minor things so suspect it ( one I bought from Black Dawge when they closed up shop on manufacturing BP ammo) to be an older model. I keep the older one setup for BP and the newer one (purchased approx 15 years ago) set-up for smokeless. I have been debating the bullet feed system but have not jumped into the buy just yet. I have talked to those who have them and they get good reviews. I do not think you will be at all disappointed in your investment and what bad can anyone say about Dillon in backing their products. Also, there are several companies that offer little aftermarket items that even adds more pleasure in the 1050 reloading experience. You might want to invest in a primer tube loader also (Dillon RF 100). You can spent about as much time loading up 100 primers as you can knocking out 100 completed rounds on the 1050 (approx 5 minutes). Big hello to my friends at BBH. Billy Boots bb75417@yahoo.com
