  3. It is a .38 Special Uberti 1866 that does not like shorter ammo. At 1.550 it is reliable 100% of the time.
  4. Copenhagen messaged me about this. I’m interested in the 550. Let me know how much with shipping unless you are going to the NW Regional Championship in Jerome ID next month.
  5. It's always nice if you don't have to ship a gun. Boomstick is great but a little further away. Nate Kiowa Jones isn't in East Texas, when he moved to Lampasas area (I think between Lampasas and Burnet) that's more like central Texas. And it is not a far drive from San Antone. But Nate was having health problems a while back and I haven't heard whether he's back at it or not. Easy enough to call and find out. @Newt Ritter is near San Antonio, he's not a 'smith but knows his way around '97's. He may see this and respond.
  6. sights, grips, hammer spurs, and many other things are specifically allowed to be modified, and they say that anything not mentioned is not allowed. Yeah, kinda crazy. Fortunately for the Colt style guns, the backstrap covers that mod.
  7. Dad was hypoglycemic. He always kept a vial of honey in his pocket. Tommy, one of is very obviously young. Around here, Sourwood has very little color of all.
  8. You're 80? You don't look a day over 70! Happy Birthday!
  9. We wouldn't have either, but we only had two bombs ready to go. Had Japan waited much longer to surrender, there'd be at the very least a third city added to the list of nuked cities.

  11. 4 5/8” blue barrels $75 shipped for the pair.
  12. There's countless books on Japan's atrocities in WWII, but these three books.............Japan got away easy with just Nagasaki and Hiroshima.....and Emperor Hirohito should have swung off a gallows.
  13. There is an urban legend that if you stare into the bathroom mirror and say "45ACP sucks" three times, John Moses Browning will appear and scold you for not shooting God's caliber.
  14. My birthday
  15. Thanks. I watched the first movie around '03 or '04. Never been tempted to do it again.
  16. LOL I could have so much fun with this post. I do carry a 9mm 1911 at this point because it just works for me. As to shot shell reloading, one will still need to load a few and test for pattern. For all the rigidity in the formulas (I do see it), if the gun shoots a donut, work from there. I am close to trying brass 12 GA hulls with APP. I have everything to do so, except time. I bless starting as close to a specific recipe as possible, then work from there. Maybe what is missing from shotgun loads is guidance for how to tweak. More or less shot, or powder, or how to adjust the wad if changing one or another. I suspect (without sufficient experience to be sure) that the final stack has to come out to the right height for a proper crimp. With something like a .38 spl, a little air space is not a problem as long as the primer sparks reach the main charge. Normally would not even post in a thread like this (not truly qualified). Consider this contributing questions, not guidance.
  17. I've seen several M-60 operating Rod Springs fly.
  18. Tojo or Hitler wouldn't have stopped at just two, if they'd won the atom bomb race.
  19. Yeah, they should've just said 80k of ammo. Some people could probably shoot it up in no time.
