A double edged sword!!

On one hand, it may eliminate some sloppy judging and streamline gameplay.

On the other hand, it removes a human element that has been a staple in competition and the results COULD be manipulated electronically!

OH!!  And they’re already using electronic umpiring in the minor leagues, particularly in ball and strike calls!

I don’t like it! Umpires for the most part get it right and the hitters and pitchers adjust to the different umps when they’re calling high or low strikes. Sure there’s mistakes but as Blackwater said the electronics can be manipulated. Who do you trust more??

Bad calls are an integral part of sports. To eliminate umpires and line judges is just plain wrong.

It's funny to me that world class athletes still drop balls, make other mistakes but expect referees or umpires to be mistake free.

They always talk about Ted Williams vision. His abilty to see the ball better then anyone and of course a fighter pilot. He could have been the best behind the plate umpire ever. But do you want to see him there or at bat, hitting.

What's next, AI spotters that can see through BP smoke? Maybe a Cyberdyne Systems model T101?

I can see it now...

T101 - Dat Vas A Procedural Und Two Misses.

Me - I think you are wrong, I got the P but I hit all the targets.

T101 - You're Terminated!

The ultimate worst umpire in MLB ever.

As far as AI in the majors...NO.

Is that because tennis is so boring that the Line Judges loose their focus.  :P

Or is it because they are like SASS spotters and are too busy BSing. ;)

If I were a line judge I would be looking at those ball girls a bit to often.😁
