Hello everyone! 👋🏼 

 

We have gotten quite a few phone calls today at the office about an email that several folks have received. First off, thank you to the members that called in to notify us thus far. 

 

This email is a SCAM! The email comes from a Gmail account posing as Misty Moonshine. Please do not respond to or interact with the email.

I got that email. It looked suspicious.

I just got it and emailed you and Misty!  I guess you can ignore the email now that I've seen this.
Dirty rotten scammers.  If only they knew just exactly who they were dealing with!

Got the same one and was just about to make an inquiry when I decided to check the wire.

One thing the three of you have in common is me being to find each of your email addresses "in the wild" in under a minute.

I have a public email address and a private email address.  Not perfect as the was an overlap years ago, but better that it was.

 

It becomes necessary to have your email published if you are a Match Director, or committee chairperson for the home club that host the Cowboy club.

 

All someone had to do was skim the list of contacts from the SASS Match Director list to get all of those.  Probably took them minutes at most to compile the list.

 

It looks like they commandeered the email address SingleeActionShootingSociety@gmail.com for their nefarious business dealings and used Misty's name as the sender.

With this information, I will expand a bit on my previous post.

 

If rank-and-file members get the email, this could indicate a site hack. My email is not associated with my SASS alias except for here in PMs from sales and purchases. I have not got the email.

 

At this point, I think only members with published addresses are getting the spam/scam.

 

If anyone who thinks their email is not out in the wild gets the email, let me know and I will see if I find it. DO NOT post your email here, just ask me to take a look and I will respond by PM if I find one.
