Don't be looking at it, 2 pieces of cardboard, pinhole in one, project on the other.

I remember watching one many years ago by looking at the ground under a tree.  The leaves created thousands of "pinholes" projecting the images onto the ground.  Beautiful.

I am considering buying one of these for the April eclipse and also getting filters for my current telescope.

Hopefully the one in April in Cleveland will be on a sunny clear day. :)

My daughter, son-in-law and his parents want us to meet up with them in Texas for the eclipse in April 2024. I was thinking that viewing from Niagara Falls on the U.S. side might be really cool. Trouble is, I think Texas has a helluva lot better chance of being sunny than Niagara Falls, NY.

I saw the one in 2017 in Oregon. That was very cool. Here’s a map showing the two.

The upcoming one will have a great viewing time down in Texas as well.

Took a lot of fiddling with the camera settings but finally got a decent shot.

This was taken by a friend who drove out to west Texas.

I was a working paramedic in Athens County when the last totality hit there.

Middle off summer.

A nice friendly tree threw the same shadows as were shown earlier in this thread.

Next year my hacienda is supposed to be in the path of totality.

Neighbor has a nice friendly maple tree to throw eclipse shadows.
