Injun Ryder, SASS #36201L Posted March 3 Share Posted March 3 I have been aware of the 12 volt starter system for a number of years and have seen one installed. For me, it kind of takes away some of the mystique of the old 6 volt system. Also, my Indian is 80 Cu In with more compression than the 74 Cu In motor so the starter will have a harder time working. The system I saw probably was Kiwi's and it did not seem to have too much power. As for parking on a hill. my previous home was on top of a hill and I used that all the time. Lesson learned - DO NOT store a motorcycle under a water-proof cover for extended periods of time in hot and humid environments. Totally destroyed my seats. sassnetguy50 Posted March 4 Share Posted March 4 I'd look for a new cover with more vents. Mine vented here on both sides and never had a deterioration or mildew problem. There are newer covers that use sections of breathable fabric similar to Frogg Toggs that might be worth a look. Eyesa Horg Posted March 4 Share Posted March 4 My experience was that even breathable cover don't work well in a garage over time. Still had moisture issues after removing after a year under cover. Presuming the lack of air flow in a garage that's closed most of time,but heated to mid 40s during the winter. He rode on the edge, fast and loose so he would wreck hard like Mr Magoo. The hill had three step ups and he wasn’t the only rider to ride backwards direction down the hill. He was the only one penalized for it. He said it cost him the class championship that year.
