Blackwater 53393 Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 I’m bringing this one back around. The guy who wrote it passed away this morning! 2 Quote

Linn Keller, SASS 27332, BOLD 103 Posted April 20, 2024 Posted April 20, 2024 I've also developed a fondness for Anna Lapwood -- she's a British artist, in the finest sense of the word, and she makes the biggest pipe organ in the WORLD sit up and talk! I thought I was genuinely Hot Stuff, playing first chair French horn, UNTIL I SAW ANNA LAPWOOD RUNNING AN ORGAN ... ... suddenly my skill level seemed more like drunken honking on a harmonica, compared with hers! 1 Quote

Blackwater 53393 Posted May 6, 2024 Posted May 6, 2024 Was looking at some old play lists and saw this one! 1 Quote
Chantry Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 I've seen the Nightcats a number of times and they always put on a great show, probably the best small venue band I've ever seen. Rick Estrin writes a lot of funny and great songs. Quote
Chantry Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 He opened for Buddy Guy last night, pretty good and the bass player is not only pretty good, she's also beautiful. Quote
Chantry Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 I went saw Buddy Guy last night. Buddy still sings and plays as good as ever and moves pretty damn good for someone coming up on his 88th birthday in just over 2 1/2 months. This is one of my favorite Buddy Guy songs that he did with Jools Holland his Orchestra. Quote
Chantry Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 “I gave it my absolute everything I had in that HOWL, at the start of the song. And then B.B. King opened up his mouth, and I felt like a girl." Bono on singing "When Loves Come to Town' a song he wrote specifically for BB King. Quote
DocWard Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 I hope this hasn't already been posted, but it popped up as a suggestion on YouTube. I liked Kenny Rogers, even liked the First Edition to the extent I have heard their music, but I didn't know Kenny Rogers was a fair-to-middlin' bass player. Quote
