Tired of going off half cocked? One more plus, if you'd just weld that hammer to the frame of the rifle that'd cut down on those pesky misses too! J. Mark Flint #31954 LIFE
j b weld will fill it in then if you want it back just remove the j b weld . You know that might work. Brazing is a similar option. Seems like a good way to mess up a gun to me, but what do I know?

Ringer
Why? I did mine because I was feeling it brush over the sear when I pulled the trigger. It will also save you from the dreaded half cocked SDQ.
Purly SASS # 57438
Why? If the Shotgun Boogy trigger is adjusted properly the half cock don't work .
Beartrap SASS#57175
I did mine because I was feeling it brush over the sear when I pulled the trigger. It will also save you from the dreaded half cocked SDQ. That rule goes away 1/1/2020. The change passed the TG vote.

Muleshoe Bill SASS #67022
Thanks for the explanations of the reasons to remove the half cock. I will leave my hammer alone mostly because I am a slow shooter and really would not benefit. I guess for me it has never been an issue. I used to hunt in heavy "crawl on your belly brush and bramble" country in east Texas with a lever gun. you left the hammer on half cock or the lever partially open as a safety thing because branches could grab a trigger or hammer and have pretty interesting results. having the lever partially open pretty much prevented branch intervention.
