Sawhorse Kid
Holster Toes: Open, Closed, Just Don't Care Do you have a preference? Any particular reason? I for one prefer Open Toe, as I was taught to for reason.
Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770
I prefer open toe so that Stuff can fall out. I also cut my holsters about a half in too long so that Stuff has a harder time reaching the barrel.
Pat Riot
Open. Let’s things fall out and allows water to drain if caught in the rain.
Smuteye John SASS#24774
Open- for the reasons that Pat and CJ brought forth.
Colorado Coffinmaker
Dunno about Open Toe. I find as I get and have gotten older, my toes get cold really easy. I prefer nice closed toes with soft warm socks
J. Mark Flint #31954 LIFE
I like closed toe holsters. They seem to be firmer and hold their shape better. I agree you need to be careful of getting crap in them, but I'm not generally in a place where I am going to get holsters full of crap.
Dantankerous
I have both. No preference here.

Trailrider #896
Closed! When you've spent enough time sliding down mountain sides on your backside as I, it is too easy to plug the barrel with debris! If a customer insists on an open-toe holster, I'll go along. But it is against my recommendation! If you are that concerned about stuff falling into the top of the holster, then you need a full flap going over the top of the gun. (With a thumb-break, it doesn't have to slow down your draw!)
