Are you two going to bring enough for everyone? ;) I know CHILI PEPPER, makes some great salsa, probably the best salsa I ever had was what he brought to the showdown last year!

Posted

I have heard that another classic is sending his entry in, so once we get it and another one who is suppose to be attending we will have 14 classics!

The Classic Cowboy is officially the LARGEST CATEGORY... at the Nebraska State Championship!!  Thanks for everyone that has signed up as a Classic for the Showdown!

Only 30 slots left and only five weeks until the entry cutoff... So if you wanna join the fun sign up quick!

Just make sure you’re near when the salsa comes out.  It may not last long. :D

Ok Major and Art, I'm calling you out. My only Classic Cowboy long guns are my Uberti Henry and an '87 lever shotgun. I've got the Henry runnin' GREAT now, and am going to be practicing with the '87. It's time to bring yours out. To sweeten the pot, I'll shoot smokeless too!  :D

He called you out TWICE, Major.

Stuff just got serious. :o

That'll be fine, but I'm pretty dang sure one of you two has an '87.  If not, you can borrow mine.

While I don't have a dog in this fight as I don't have big boy guns and ain't gonna borrow none, though many have offered, anyway, I just had an idear...

Major is putting up the buckle for the top finishing classic cowboy, right?

I think one of the others should put up a prize for the best looking Classic at the match.  Don't know what the prize might be, a cracked mirror maybe?  Figure with some of them fellers it would crack if they looked in it anyway.  I'm sure there's something better than that.

So what do you fellers think?

Edit -  Should have said best costumed, don't know that any of them are that good looking :D:P

Having called some incredible pards out with tongue firmly planted in cheek, you have to understand that for me, and not for them, I can hear the train whistle coming from the light at the end of tunnel, and it's headed straight at me....  :D

Gonna be fun!

Dantankerous would win that hands down...all the gals always ask him for a photo.  Like shooting with a superstar..

It is going to be fun pard!  You know you can shoot cap n ball as a classic, be perfect for ya!  Best of both categories!

It's my handling of the '87 shotgun that'll give the posse giggles. Hopefully there will some style points and an "E" for effort!

You know I shoot Frontiersman a lot, but full disclosure here, I have to admit that every time I load a C&B pistol, I'm reminded of what a marvelous invention the metallic cartridge is! With that in mind, I'll be shooting my '72 Open Tops which I've neglected the last few years.

I have only shot an 87 once and it was awful.   Someday I am sure I will have one though!

What caliber are your open tops?  I have always wanted a set in 44colt

'87s are way cool and the only reason I'm not proficient with it is I don't use it enough. Shame on me!

My Uberti OTs are chambered for .45 Colt. Haven't shot that cartridge in them for some time. I switched to Schofield before I found out about Cowboy Special. Bought a bunch of those cases back when AJ was in business.

Can you really be a gamer shooting 7 1/2 barrels?... With the oh so slow cross draw?  Everything I shoot is so "against the grain".  ;)   You just worry about winning the Costume Contest!  Think you got some competition this year pard! :o
