Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Ok Major and Art, I'm calling you out. My only Classic Cowboy long guns are my Uberti Henry and an '87 lever shotgun. I've got the Henry runnin' GREAT now, and am going to be practicing with the '87. It's time to bring yours out. To sweeten the pot, I'll shoot smokeless too!
Dantankerous Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 He called you out TWICE, Major. Stuff just got serious.
Grizzly Dave Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Gonna be quite the Classic Cowboy Showdown on the Prairie!

Grizzly Dave Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 While I don't have a dog in this fight as I don't have big boy guns and ain't gonna borrow none, though many have offered, anyway, I just had an idear... Major is putting up the buckle for the top finishing classic cowboy, right? I think one of the others should put up a prize for the best looking Classic at the match. Don't know what the prize might be, a cracked mirror maybe? Figure with some of them fellers it would crack if they looked in it anyway. I'm sure there's something better than that. So what do you fellers think? Edit - Should have said best costumed, don't know that any of them are that good looking
Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Having called some incredible pards out with tongue firmly planted in cheek, you have to understand that for me, and not for them, I can hear the train whistle coming from the light at the end of tunnel, and it's headed straight at me.... Gonna be fun!

Hopefully there will some style points and an "E" for effort! You know I shoot Frontiersman a lot, but full disclosure here, I have to admit that every time I load a C&B pistol, I'm reminded of what a marvelous invention the metallic cartridge is! With that in mind, I'll be shooting my '72 Open Tops which I've neglected the last few years.

What caliber are your open tops? I have always wanted a set in 44colt
Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 '87s are way cool and the only reason I'm not proficient with it is I don't use it enough. Shame on me! My Uberti OTs are chambered for .45 Colt. Haven't shot that cartridge in them for some time. I switched to Schofield before I found out about Cowboy Special. Bought a bunch of those cases back when AJ was in business.
Bulldog Brown Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Now boys no fighting. This is going to be one heck-of-a- shoot. Bulldog
