FS. Pair of custom Stainless ROAs. Reduced Again

Recommended Posts

For sale,

A pair of custom stainless ROAs converted from 71/2" adjustable sight models.  Barrels cut to 4 3/4" and rotated so the script is on the bottom.  Cylinders have been fluted, beveled and the wording removed. Frame has been re profiled to a more colt like appearance and easier holstering.  Top strap has been milled and a new sight channel recut, front sight is a 3/16" brass post.  The action has been tuned,  Treso nipples, a new lighter trigger spring and 19# wolf main spring.  Pistols come with a hand made loading stand to speed up the loading process.

Asking $ 1,750.00 shipped

Can you please show a photo of the rear sight?  The topstrap appears to have been significantly remodeled.  Thanks.

Pete,

Barrels are too long or Dawg would be all over em.

Yep.....I've got three 3" ROAs.

Short barreled ROAs are a hoot!

Good luck with the sale Chili

Still hobbling a bit, but I'm getting there.

Gonna try doing a shoot this weekend & see if I can make 6 stages.

By late summer or early fall, I should be good to go

Yes Blackey I Can,  Chili has extra barrels :P

Broomstick,  I think it would reduce the collectors value as they have been altered but Ruger made quite a few 7 1/2" fixed sight models. The price didn't jump on these until they stopped making them and has seamed to have leveled off.  The going price for a pair of  7 1/2" stainless with boxes and papers will be right around $ 1,500.00 and normally take a little while to sell.  People are far more interest in the 5 1/2".  I guess it it comes down to what you want to do with it,  if you want a matching pair of 5 1/2",  I'd sell the  7 1/2" and buy a  matching 5 1/2" unmolested.  This would give you a pair of un altered guns that can be shot and still maintain their value.

Just my thoughts, others may know better

Best regards,

Chili

They sure are purdy .... How did you fill in the gap left by the sight removal, solder or weld, I can't get a magnet to stick to mine, seems to be an aloy or aluminum...whatever you did, it sure turned out nice...

I don't do either.  I basically thin and re profile the top strap to get rid of the cut out.  If you look closely at the top view you can see the small indents of where the sight sat.   Thanks for the kind words

Best regards

don't hold your breath, they've been saying they would be bringing them back for the last 5 years or so... once i was told by the ruger rep at a gun show they would be a cap and ball only vaquero like the C&B SAA, and come in 32, 36, and 44... that was 4 years ago...

i would bet this though, if they brought them back they won't be based on the blackhawk frame and would probably cost as much if not more than they do now...
