Calamity Kris
Apparently, none of you has seen Disney's Fanatasia... Au contraire. My father took us to see it when I was 8. That movie inspired me to become a concert violinist. Every time I hear Toccata and Fugue I have the Disney visual running through my head. Charlie Harley, #14153
My mom took us to see Fantasia in the early 70s. It was in a theater that showed both movies and live plays, and it had an orchestra pit. It was a remastered version that divided the soundtrack into individual instruments, and the orchestra pit had speakers where each instrument would normally sit. It was like watching the movie and having a live orchestra play all the parts. It inspired me to try the violin, but I quickly learned I needed to stick with just enjoying good music instead of trying to create it.
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967
The Bach segment of Fantasia was good... heck, it was ALL good. But my favorite was Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain." Hard to sleep after that part!
