Subdeacon Joe Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Amy Adams gives up first-class seat to soldier in coach The Oscar-nominated actress sat in coach on a flight from Detroit to Los Angeles this morning after giving up her first-class ticket to a uniformed soldier. She tried to slip under the radar, but coincidentally, ESPN's Jemele Hill happened to be boarding the same plane. Hill tweeted about what she just witnessed and the story caught national attention. "Just saw actress Amy Adams do something incredibly classy," Hill posted. "She gave her 1st class seat to an American soldier. I'm an even bigger fan now." Hill apparently saw Adams eyeing the soldier as she got on the plane and later saying something to a flight attendant. A short time later, Hill noticed Adams was gone and the soldier sat in her place. Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Never heard of her before, but I'll make the effort to see some of her work now.
Subdeacon Joe Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 Never heard of her before, but I'll make the effort to see some of her work now. Ditto. I especially like that she seems to have tried to keep it quite. More on it here: http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2014/06/27/amy-adams-gives-first-class-airline-seat-to-soldier-sits-in-coach-passenger/ "I just thought it was incredibly generous and thoughtful. I've been a big fan of hers, but now I'm an even bigger fan... "The flight attendant even remarked to me that in all her years of service she has never seen a celebrity do something like that. Regular people, yes. But not a celeb." Adams, whose father was in the military, settled into a coach seat for the flight. "Ms. Adams did it so quietly and quickly that it speaks to her character," Hill added. "And somebody in coach just got a helluva seatmate!"
Utah Bob #35998 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Attagirl. From her Bio: "Amy Lou Adams was born in Italy, to American parents Kathryn (Hicken) and Richard Kent Adams, while her father was a U.S. serviceman. She was raised in a Mormon family of seven children in Castle Rock, Colorado."
Cliff Hanger #3720LR Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 I know she played Amilia Airhart in "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" and the princess in "Enchanted".
Utah Bob #35998 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 I know she played Amilia Airhart in "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" and the princess in "Enchanted".And Julien in "Julie and Julia" and Clint Eastwood's daughter in "Trouble with the Curve" and she was nominated for an Oscar for American Hustle. Looks like a good actress and a good person to me. I have no idea what her politics are, and don't particularly care.
