They live for confrontation and publicity and would love for anyone to show up and protest. As a matter of fact, they're practically begging for people to do just that. Our local paper, The Kansas City Star, won't cover them anymore, so they've mostly disappeared from our area. J. When they get together in a restaraunt, ask the waiters to NOT serve them. Then block the driveways. Ask tow truck companies to haul thier cars away, and dump them somewhere across town. Ask the sheriiffs, police etc. to look the other way for a day or so, as long as no violence occurs. Hopefully your town can ban together and show these dumasses they are not welcome. Those two are bad ideas. Having their cars towed without cause could be considered grand theft. Would you really ask them to violate their oath of office? Turning your back to them and ignoring them whenever they appear would be appropriate. Video any such encounter. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll assault somebody or vandalize something. 11 months and 29 days in the Davidson County Jail would be about right. Per count. The Supreme Court has ruled that they are in a legitimate exercise of their rights under the First Amendment. I disagree but I'm not on the Court. I've spent almost 50 years of my life supporting and defending the Constitution against enemies, foreign and domestic. I won't turn my back on that now. I'd love to run these bozos out of town on a rail covered in tar and feathers. Sadly, that would make me no better than them. Best of luck to those who go on Monday. I will wave an American flag and show my respect to the family, no matter what is said or done by the haters. I will bring cold water to provide the other counter protesters. I will not break the law nor instigate violence or even hatred-I will laugh at their stupidity, I will drown their cursing out with whatever prayers are offered for our fallen hero. And I will be proud to be among Americans that love our country, its soldiers and its diversity. The Phelps clan has already lost, I will not give them what they want, but I will try and see that the family knows that far more people appreciate their sacrifice and the they are our heroes, just as their son and brother is and always will be.
