  1. Drop it on your foot. If it just hurts, they are new model. If they put you in intensive care and rebuild your bones with titanium plates, "old model".

  2. Because it's cool. No better reason than that. The more I've looked this over today the more I like it.

  3. Twenty Dollars Apiece On their wedding night, the young bride approached her new husband and asked for $20.00 for their first lovemaking encounter. In his highly aroused state, her husband readily agreed. This scenario was repeated each time they made love, for more than 30 years, with him thinking that it was a cute way for her to afford new clothes and other incidentals that she needed. Arriving home around noon one day, she was surprised to find her husband in a very drunken state. During the next few minutes, he explained that his employer was going through a process of corporate downsizing, and he had been let go. It was unlikely that, at the age of 59, he'd be able to find another position that paid anywhere near what he'd been earning, and therefore, they were financially ruined. Calmly, his wife handed him a bank book which showed more than thirty years of steady deposits and interest totaling nearly $1 million. Then she showed him certificates of deposits issued by the bank which were worth over $2 million, and informed him that they were one of the largest depositors in the bank. She explained that for the more than three decades she had 'charged' him for sex, these holdings had multiplied and these were the results of her savings and investments. Faced with evidence of cash and investments worth over $3 million, her husband was so astounded he could barely speak, but finally he found his voice and blurted out, 'If I'd had any idea what you were doing, I would have given you all my business!' That's when she shot him. You know, sometimes, men just don't know when to keep their mouths shut.

  5. Or we can just call it LARGE VAQUERO or SMALL VAQUERO, to distinguish between large frame vs small frame. Just saying.

  6. I am not familiar with SKB shotguns. Never held one or looked on over. Does the SKB have a firing pin retaining nut on the face of the receiver? If so, try tightening it. If it has worked loose even by a 1/4 turn, the firing pin will no longer travel far enough to get a good primer hit. ================ From what you have done with the press, look a see if you can adjust the primer depth punch.

  7. You posted this just to argue the difference between the words original and old, give me a break! One model was made years ago and is no longer in production, another model, the NEW model is in production so what does that make the original model......... it's the old model! If someone posts.... "I've got a Ruger Vaquero for sale" and one of the first questions asked is..."Is it the NEW Vaquero or the older Vaquero?" THAT would be a valid question, a question that everyone would understand but if they didn't understand the meaning of the question, calling it the original wouldn't make it any clearer to them! If it makes you feel better calling it the original then by all means carry on but I don't see the sense or the necessity since everyone in the first 29 posts knew what we are talking about. Thanks to everyone for chiming in with different ways one can tell the difference between the two models

  8. That IS the "right pistol grip", for a couple of reasons. With a "stick down at the bottom" grip, like this the recoil goes to your thumb and your wrist. Been there, done that, hurts. With this type grip, the recoil is pushed up your arm. The elbow and shoulder both pivot easily to accept it. Doesn't hurt. Second reason: with a "hang down below" grip you cannot reach the safety, which is on top of the receiver. With this grip the safety is right at your thumb. Third (and best) reason: the gun must be 26" or greater OAL or it needs to be papered. With a "hang down below" grip it would be about 22", requiring AOW paperwork.

  9. I think you need to keep that grip to keep the overall length over 26'', otherwise it is a SBS.

  10. Oh there is definitely a new and old. Please don't apply Blackhawks version of old and new to vaqueros. EVERYONE knows there was never a three screw vaquero. So please stop correcting people for saying "old model" vaquero.

  13. I gotta get to the kitchen. Need another PopCorn. Wash it down with some Dead Guy. Yum. No. I think the original holder of the low number either sells it gives it to a newbe. Front office then reassigns it.
