Alpo Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 In the movie FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. The wedding, between the milkman's oldest daughter and the tailor. Everybody is carrying this candle that is actually two candles twisted or braided together. I suppose this is to symbolize two people that are now one married couple. Now if this is just something they dreamed up for the movie, well heck, they could make up a candle like that all kinds of strange ways. But if this is actually Russian Jewish tradition - if they really did this in the 1900s - how did they twist the candles? 1 Quote
Pat Riot Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Well, if you need to twist one up you need some quality rolling papers and…What? Candles?…Uh, never mind. Gotta go! 6 Quote

Alpo Posted December 4, 2024 Author Posted December 4, 2024 I thought the original was better. I need to watch number three. Halle Berry with a machine gun. Quote
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 (edited) Having seen those, I imagine you could take multiple really thin candles and weave them together to get multiple wicks. Edited December 4, 2024 by Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Quote
