Colorado Coffinmaker Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 OK. When I retired, I put my little book of secrets in a safe place. You guessed it. Now I can't find its safe place. Anybody know the thread pitch/size for the Magazine End Cap on a Uberti Rifle?? Of course, then I have to find a correct Tap.
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Bet it's not your regular metric thread.

largo casey #19191 Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 I had a tap I needed a while back.It was a site screw for a 84 trapdoor with Buffington site.It was a 8-26.I found one for 150.00 but she gave me a better price. It was a shoulder screw so I needed to go back with the same. The only other people that use this thread size are Banjo makers. They have a hard time finding a tap. Largo Interesting but what does this have to do with the threads on a Uberti magazine tube or end cap plug?

Colorado Coffinmaker Posted October 7, 2024 Author Posted October 7, 2024 KING SNAKE - Thanks a bunch. Hate it when I put something away and then can't remember where I stashed it (grumble grumble) YA BIG TREE - Same same as above. Many many thanks. Addendum: This Thank You failed to post when I originally tried to post. Just sat in the "Editor" until today. Wish I knew why this site does that. Very frustrating.

Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 No because metric theads are like American threads. There are some standard coarse and fine sizes like 10-24 and 10-32 in the U.S. and 4 - .7 and 4 - .5 in the rest of the world. Then you have non-standard threads like Largo's 8-26 that were made for specific applications.
H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619 Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 "Regular" threads are expressed in so many fractions of an inch. 12 inches equal 1 foot. "Metric" threads are expressed in so many fraction of something called a "meter." It's supposed to be a little longer than a yard. I believe "the metric system" was made up by some French guy.
