Irish Pat Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 i have a probably 8 year old Rugged Gear gun cart. the right rear wheel came off while i was loading it in my truck. I got wheel back on the axle but the pin that goes on the end of the axle bent while I was trying to get it back on. I sure somebody else has probably been through this I need some suggestions. Irish Pat Posted July 20, 2024 Author Posted July 20, 2024 I think all I need to get my wheel back on is one of these pins if any one has an extra I could sure use it

Rugged Gear has had at least three differnt ways of attaching the rear wheels. A photo of this "pin" would help. P.S. I would go to the Rugged Gear website and click on the contact information and call, write, or email them.
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 Call RG and send them pictures. We would like to see some too. RG has used several different way to attract the wheel.
Rance - SASS # 54090 Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 Ya got room to just drill a small hole and use a washer and cotter key?? Just sayin.. or a snap ring if there’s a groove all the way around the axle..
Gray Hare, SASS #20821 Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 I had the same problem. RG doesnt sell this pin anymore. They have a plastic insert with a cotter pin with it. Gray Hare
Barry Sloe Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 For a small nominal fee (around $200) you can get a wheel upgrade from RG (front assembly and both back wheels). It takes care of the pin and you won't have to worry about the spokes later on. Just a thought, BS
Geronimo Jim SASS # 21775 Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 My wheels come off about once a match.

But if it is something otherwise solved from any hardware store and a bit of playing, that might be easier than getting factory service.

watab kid Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 im sorry but whats so difficult about these ? a hole and cotter key would do it unless there is something really special here - then go to the factory for correct p[arts ,

This style of pin is NOT meant to come out. This pin is meant to push in/down to remove wheel. Once it is out it’s virtually impossible to reinstall and you need to go the drill cotter pin route. Hugs! Scarlett

Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Junk it and buy a new one. In eight years you won't be able to buy parts for that one either.
