Rooster Ron Wayne
I know most of us are already using Slix Shot Nipples or some sort of aftermarket nipple . Here is a very good review. 3

Colorado Coffinmaker
SlixShot nipples are not as large as pictured. They are actually a Venturi, as in a Rocket Nozzle. It accelerates and concentrates the flame travel. Better ignition.

Rooster Ron Wayne
Oddly enough. Long before I ever started shooting Cowboy Action. I shot Ruger old army percussion pistols . I never had or heard of cap jams . I was a hand gun hunter so naturally when muzzleloading season come around. I used my Ruger Old Army. Until I got involved with SASS around 2011 or So . I never heard of cap jams . Then I fell in love with the Open Top Colts . A whole new world of percussion gun issues opened up to me lol Rooster

Rooster Which is one of the reasons why back in the day of the "Black Powder" category, (pre-1989), I was happy they were regulated to the "Modern" category. Where they should've stayed. 🤫Although, if Ruger had ever had at least one intelligent marketing type, they'd have downsized it to a .36 caliber on a smaller frame, fixed sights and maybe, just maybe a maximum 5" bbl...

Tequila Shooter
I wish they’d start making them again, but I know they won’t. Good thing they’re built like tanks I’d hate to try to source parts for them.
Colorado Coffinmaker
I just happen to know of a .36 built on a ROA frame. Really kool. Not cheap to build either.

I don't understand why some clone company doesn't pick up on making reproduction ROA.

They are legal for all sass categories EXCEPT Frontiersman. Personally I don't want to see it made legal for Frontiersman. While I shoot ROA's, It would not break my heart if they were no longer legal for frontiersman.
